Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Video games I am having problems with some of the online poker games. They load fine but when I get on a table they seem to "stall" and then "catch up". Because the hands are timed I run out of time before it "catches up". What's the problem? Is it my computer(video card not large enough) or is it possibly my internet provider? I am with AOL but only have dial up. (that's all I can get out here in the sticks)

Hello,

You are probably correct on both issues video and internet speed. I'm not sure which site that your are using to play cards but, if they have the options to turn off sounds and turn down the details of the graphics that should help some. You can contact their support email if you need instructions on making these changes. The support email address is usually support@<playing_site.com>, where <playing_site> is what you type to get to the site to play without the http://www.

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate this information.

Thanks

Cannot get into games

First of all make sure that your system meets the requirements for this generations online games. Pentium 4 and above, at least 256mb memory ram, at least 64 mb video card.

Online games surely needs a special software that will enable the loading of the game graphics. Direct X was the widely used supports for online games.

For some games like yahoo and facebook games, it will need a special software like Adobe Flash Player to help the games load its graphics and animations.

Have this requirements and software and you can play the games that you want in no time.

Video Scrambles After Loading Screens

Sometimes things like this are much simpler than they seem, but since the problem appears so severe, it freaks you out. I'm assuming since you didn't state it that you haven't tried many if any fixes at all. So I will start with one of the most basic ones.

First try checking the settings on the video options for your video card... "display options" or the geforce console.. if you are using anti aliasing... what setting is it on? 2x? 3x? Other than that, try using the lowest video settings for the game and see if it still does the same distortions/freezing. if not, your settings may have just been too high, gradulally ease them up to the highest setting you can without it having problems during loading.

If none of that works.. try the following options.

1. Try re-installing the games themselves.
2. Try rolling back your video driver.
3. Try updating your video driver to the newest possible version.

Event error 1033

it seems like this problem may be related to your video. I found this forum about the same problem and it seems there are several different reasons. You can try to load new drivers for your video card (search your computer brand and model + video drivers) and see if that helps. Other than that you can try one of the solutions offered in the previous link

Hi,
Ok best thing to try, which will quickly solve your problem would be to go here

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srl

Then Click where it says : "Find out if you can run
that game on your PC"

Look in the drop down list and select The Sims 2 Double Deluxe PC game. Then Click on the "Can You Run it" Button.

It wiil then Scan your System & Build a detailed profile of Hardware & Software installed, and will inform you of what software or hardware is/is not compatable with the game you want to play.

I have a Pentium 4 3ghz Processor, 1GB Ram, Direct X 9.0c, Win XP SP3 installed & after running a test to see if my Machine would handle The Sims 2 Double Deluxe, it passed on all areas except Video Card. & This is what it informed me :

Video Card

Video Card Features - Minimum attributes of your Video Card

 Video RAM: Required - 32 MB , You have - 128 MB
Video Card 3D Acceleration: Required - Yes , You have - Yes
Video HW Transform & Lighting: Required - Yes , You have - No

It seems like your video card does not meet the minimum requirements for your game. The documentation that comes with your game should tell you what the minimum specification is in order to run the game successfully.

Game guard dump_wmimmc.sys

Cloaked Malware. The Process is packed and/or encrypted using a software packing process. DUMP_WMIMMC.SYS has been the subject of the following behavior:
Created as a new Background Service on the machine
Loaded and Executed as a System Driver File
Deleted as a process from disk
Created as a process on disk

This file I believe it is from GameGuard, Nprotect.
