You`ll probably find that this is due to the amount of programs that insist on running at boot up, i bet youll find there are a load of icons in the far bottom right of your taskbar, if there is you will have to go thru msconfig or get a program that will allow you to stop the ones that dont need to run until you want them to, its like you wanting to go to the shop but the rest of the family wanna come with you in case they want to buy something, you have to wait for them to get shoes coats etc before you can go then wait for them to be ready to come back home with you.... its the same thing with pc`s, loads of things run at boot up just in case you want to use them, stop them doing this and start them ONLY when you want to run the.
Dont stop your firewall or antivirus software, autoruns by Sysinternals will give you a list of every single thing that runs and will allow you to decide which u want.

hope this helps you m8,

Jim :-))

5 Routines to Speed up Your PC

1. Avoid Crowded Desktop

Do you have thousands and thousands of tiny little icons filling up your desktop? Each time our operating system loads it uses the memory to load all the files in the desk top; every time you refresh your computer it also steals your time to reload all the files in the desktop. So my word of advice is ‘KEEP YOUR DESKTOP CLEAN’. Keep only the important shortcuts in the desktop, keep your files in other folders say for example My Documents or in other Drives, etc.

2. Viruses, Malwares and Spywares

Every computer is prone to malwares; when it comes to windows machines they are more vulnerable. Regularly check your computer with a good antivirus software and an anti spyware software (Avast and Ad-Aware are two good free software for this purpose). Also using a firewall will help you prevent some attacks. Performing Regular Virus and Malware checks can help your computer stay healthier and thus improve performance.

3. Unused Programs

Most of us install programs for short period usages. If you have any program that you are no longer using, remove the unwanted programs (Revo Uninstaller is good software that can help you remove unwanted programs effectively). This can help you increase your computer’s performance.

4. Remove Programs from Startup

Have you ever noticed tons of tiny little icons in the right end of your task bar? They can cause your machine slow down dramatically because many of those programs start with your operating system and thus use the valuable resources we need to perform our activities.
You can remove them: Go to Start Menu -> Run and type msconfig and go to the startup tab. Remove all the programs you don’t want to start with your windows by de selecting them.

5. Optimise your hard disk performance

With time the hard disks get filled with fragmented files, corrupted files and temporary files, etc. This can cause your system to perform really slowly. If you don’t regularly check your hard drive for errors and defrag it then it can be deadly.

If you can follow these five suggestions regularly then you will have a stable performance from your pc. Stay tuned for other tips.

Icons on desktop appeared and are unwanted

You can delete icons on your desktop by clicking on them, and pressing "Delete." This will only delete the shortcut icons, not the program themselves. To uninstall programs, open your computer's "Control Panel" and click "Uninstall Programs."

The icons on the iphone 3gs are so big that only 6 show at a time and i cannot do anything on it.

Have you installed any nre programs? Is it jailbroken, and if so, have you installed Iconoclasm+shink? If so, just tap where the icons are supposed to be (not necessarily where they are) and see if you can open programs. Also might try the accessibility feature by tapping with three fingers and seeing if the phone gets out of it's zoom mode.

Delete icons in programs that have already been uninstalled.

You can open the "File Explorer" from start menu, navigate through "My Device" -> "Windows" -> "Start Menu" -> "Programs" and when you get there, you can delete the unwanted icons.

My laptop is working slower and slower and always lags especially during start up.

Try defragmenting your hard drive, remove any desktop icons that aren't used frequently and stop any programs that aren't required at start up.

Compaq n600c hang problem plz slove my problem

Please give more information Like --
After how much time it hangs?
what OS u r using?

in general answer --
open task manager (pressing CTRL,ALT, DEL keys) this will bring up Windows Task Manger, click on Application, highlight any task that is Not Responding and click on End Task.

Also, to make your CPU boot up faster, I would
click on Start
click on Run
type msconfig.exe (this will open System Configuration Utility box)
click on the Start Up Tab
(you will see several boxes checked under Startup Item). And look for programs that you don't want to launch every single time you log on. (such as Realpayer, yahooMessegner, realsched, etc).
Uncheck the boxes and this will require a reboot. Your computer will bootup a lot faster. These programs you can always open when you want. You can always tell if you have a lot of programs that startup when you turn on your cpu and in the righthand corner, where the time time is at, you see a lot of icons.

Also if you can always open up task manager again, click on Processes, find explorer.exe and kill that process, this closes everything on your screen. dont worry...
then in task manager
click on FIle
New Task Run
and type explorer.exe and click OK
and you will see all your icons pop back up on the screen.

Post reply....
Thanks

It takes my PC a very long time to boot up, what can i do?

If you have installed any softwares recently it might slow down the pc as many softwares will install a startup file in order to start faster. You can shut these programs from starting up when the pc starts.
I put 2 steps to resolve this in order of simplicity.

Remove icons from the Startup folder
Some programs open with a shortcut icon in the startup folder (Startup icons). Use the following steps to show any startup icons that might be hidden and remove startup icons from the startup folder:
NOTE: Removing items from the Startup folder does not uninstall the software program.
1. Right-click the Start button, and click Explore . The Windows Explorer window displays with Start Menu already selected.
2. Click the plus sign ( + ) next to Programs .
3. Click Startup . The shortcut icons are listed in the right pane of the window.
4. To show any hidden icons, click Tools , click Folder Options , and click the View tab.
5. Click Show hidden files and folders (Windows XP/ME) or Show all files (Windows 98), and click OK .
6. Click an unwanted startup item in the right pane of the window and drag it to a blank area on the Windows desktop. Release the mouse button to drop the icon onto the desktop.
7. Continue dragging unwanted icons until all unwanted startup icons are on the desktop. Click Yes to any window that display asking to confirm the removal of a read-only file.
8. Close Windows Explorer and restart the computer for the changes to take effect. Delete the startup icons that were moved to the desktop after you are satisfied with the way the software programs are working.
If you find that a particular software program should not have been removed from the Startup folder, double-click the startup menu item to open the Startup window. Then drag the icon from the desktop back into the Startup window.
