My neighbor who has a Toshiba laptop computer is unable to sign onto the internet using my wireless. It does not even bring up my wireless as an option. Can you help us with a solution

If your neighbor cannot see your wireless network then he is most likely too far away from your wireless router to get a decent signal and therefore signing onto your network won't help at all..

I have a new blekin router and it is active on my PC. When I try to open on my laptop, it says to enter the pin number which i did and wth laptop will not open to wireless?

Have you logged into the router through your internet connection? If you bring your browser up, enter: 198.168.2.1. That will bring up a menu for you to select from. When you login look for 2 things, 1) in the upper right corner it should say, status of connection - connected. Then it will ask you for a password. You don't need a password to enter this setup, so just hit enter. After that go to the section: Changing Passwords: Here you have 3 choices:
1)make sure the password you already entered coincides with this one.
2) you can change your password
3) or you can clear that box out and have no password.

Let me know if that works.

I have vista on my laptop. i can connect to the router and get internet with a direct wire to the router. i can connect with a wireless connection to the router but cannot get on the internet with that...

Check the wireless switch is on, located somewhere on the laptop. Also Vista has an automated lan setup I believe, so try and refresh the IP and connect to the wireless router which default is the name of the brand usually. If that doesn't work you can right click on the lower right bar in Vista where there should be a symbol with waves or the like. it will bring up the wireless window and if you need help read the help file.

My wife brings home, her works toshiba laptop ,but i can,t browse internet on it,,do i need to add something to achive this, thank you, dave.

since it is a work laptop, there is a possibility that the connection it recognizes is configured for work connection only.
you may try to set another "Default" connection on your "network connection" or install a pocket application (i used to do this on my work laptop) like pocket "mozilla" so that the browser settings are configurable.

here is what you do provided that you have a broadband connection:

for the network connection...
1.click start>settings>control panel
2.click network and internet > network connections
3.look for a connection icon that has a check mark on it, right click it then click on "canel as default connection"

you will need to change this back to default settings once you're done since your wife may not be able to use her laptop at work.

if you cannot install another application on the laptop try these:

1.open internet explorer
2.click tools> internet options>connections
3.on this window make sure the option saying "never dial a connection is clicked" if not, then click it, hit apply
4.once the wondow is good click on "LAN settings" button, on the window that will appear make sure no option is CHECKED, if you have some, uncheck them.

do make sure that you change this back also to how you found it once your done, because these settings may not apply to the settings of your wife for her office.

good luck!!!
