Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

1 Answer

Motorola Razr My razr fell into the our sump pump and was in the water for a few minutes before I was able to retrieve it. I took the battery out of the phone and dryed the phone and battery with a hair dryer, hung the phone up for about 4 days. I replaced the battery after the 5th day and the phone came on and everythig seems to work on the phone, the only problem I have is it shows no service and when you try and make a call it says no service. Does something need to be reset or is it time for a new phone? Thank you

Did you dry the phone completely? Here is the procedure to take out all moisture trapped in the phone: Dry the phone, battery, any accessory, etc. with cloth and wrap each piece, phone and accessories, in newspaper. Place a few handfuls of rice into a plastic bag and then place the wrapped phone in the bag with rice. The newspaper wrapping avoids direct contact of rice with your phone because the dust from the rice can get into the small areas of the phone. The newspaper and rice will absorb moisture. Leave it there (with the bag open) at least 24 hrs.

My motorola razr fell in the toilet. yes, i know

You might try removing the battery pack and sim card then placing it in an area of warm air flow. If the mineralization in the water in which you dropped it wasn't too high, it might recover after several days. It's worth a try and the price is right-

You may want to try a new battery. Also, give it a few days to dry before trying it again.

If it still won't work after a week, you will need to have it repaired or replaced. Unfortunately the warranty will be void, and they can tell it has been wet due to an indicator inside the battery compartment.

Ive got a Razr phone and it's not charging??

the battery is no good, the battery charges but it can't hold the charge. This could be because of age or damage.

Razr v3t wont stay on

If you have access to the Motorola Phone Tools software, I would update your phone through it first to make sure you have the most up to date firmware.

The next part may be tricky with the limited amount of time before the phone turns off, but I would try to reset the phone through the settings menu. Make sure you backup your data before doing this, as it will wipe the data from your phone.

This can often be caused by a bad SIM card as well. Most phone carriers will replace your SIM for free. Maybe try popping in a buddies SIM card and see if the results change.

Motorola RAZR V3 Cellular Problems With Water Damage

yes it is bad
getting hot means that the internals are frying or shorting out
leave the battery off of it for about a week then try it again.
I really don't like your chances of it working properly again though.
Good Luck

Razr battery trouble

Don't buy a RAZR. i work for verizon and the RAZR is the worst phone for battery life. There is, however an extended battery that may provide a temporary fix until you buy your next phone....and don't buy a RAZR
