Question about Kenmore 40494 / 40495 / 40499 Electric Single Oven
Electric element is not getting red
Age of unit could be a few diff things element could be bad control
switch could be out or could be bad wire did it stop all at ounce or
slowly elements go slowly most of the time bad wire or switch goes all

difficult to see what you have done here! can you come back with some info: do you have an earth trip fitted in your consumer unit? how many wires are fitted to the element? did you touch any other wiring except those connected to the element?

It could be the oven element (behind the cover plate in the back of the oven), or the fan not blowing the heat into the oven.

You need to replace the round fan oven element located at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover where the fan is located.
