Question about Samsung BlackJack II Smartphone

Open Question

Blackjack II won't sync

All of a sudden,my BJII won't sync. My OS is Vista Home Premium SP1. The computer "dings" like it recognizes that a device has connected, WMDC does not open automatically. When I open it manually, banner comes up but does not fully start.

Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling WMDC, deleting USB ports, setting up a new user, (all suggested by MS) still can get the phone to sync. One tech walked me through changing the settings on the phone in ActiveSync - that lost all my contacts and still can't sync. Add a comment

I have tried everything to get my BlackJack II to sync. I downloaded to upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.1 for Vista Home Premium. WMCD says "unknown device" not synced. I have tried to contact Samsung and Windows but nobody knows how to fix this problem.

Is there a way to copy a photo/picture from facebook to my Blackjack II so that its on my phone?

Yes! I used to do this all the time when I had my BJII. Plug your phone into your computer and bring up the drive associated with it. Drag and drop the desired picture into the folder and you should be good to go.

You may need to check to see which "service pack" you are currently on.

See below requirements:

System Software — Windows XP & Vista
  • Windows Vista Business or Ultimate Edition
    • 32-bit OS Installation Only
  • Windows XP Professional or Home Edition
    • With Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3

  • Not Supported:
    • Windows Vista 64-bit (any version)
    • Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
    • Windows XP Media Center Edition
    • Windows 98, Me, 2000, NT, 95, 3.1, DOS

  • Not Tested:
    • Windows Vista Home and Home Premium Edition
    • Although Windows Vista Home and Home Premium Edition have not been tested or qualified by Digidesign, there are currently no known issues with Vista Home and Home Premium 32-bit operating systems and Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 compared to the supported Windows Vista Business or Ultimate Edition operating systems.

Windows Vista SP1
There are currently no known issues with Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista based on our initial limited testing and customer feedback. Although full qualification with all Digidesign products has not been completed, we do not recommend against updating to SP1, given the number of important overall system fixes in SP1. We do recommend that you backup your system and create a restore point before updating to SP1, should you encounter any problems after installing the update.

HP doesn't have a Vista driver for Scanjet 3400c. I'm afraid your scanjet isn't compatible with Vista.

Computer says"device driver software not installed"

Check Sandisk website to see if they have Vista compatible software. i know that newer usually means better, but in the case of Microsoft Vista, you will be astounded at how many devices are not compatible with the OS. Hopefully SP1 will fix many of these issues.

Philips HDD6330/17 suddenly not recognized by Vista

Check which version of Windows Media Player you have loaded.
Open Windows Media Player. Click "Help" and "about". This should show which version you have.
Windows Automatic Updates may hve updated to version 11.

The Philips HDD6330 is only compatible with version 10 under Windows XP.

If you have version 11, then uninstall and it should roll back to version 10.
