Hi rbyerly,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is:
remodeled bathroom, installed new moen valve and hardware. Now water is coming from both the shower head and the faucet when the diverter is in the down postion. Question; Is this a single handle or three handle diverter? Assuming it's a three handle, it should just be a mater of adjusting the center handle. If single, the diverter is in the spout not the valve. I don't know how to direct you further without specifics. Feel free contact me again!

I've been having some similar problems so I ended up just having to get Medicine Hat plumbing and they did a great job!

Flip over bathroom plug in bath stuck & bath full :/

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you
  1. Remove the shower head from the pipe.
  2. Clean the arm threads and wrap them with plumbers' joint tape.
  3. Screw the head back on and hand-tighten it. Remove any excess compound or tape.
  4. Test and retighten as needed.
Repair a shower head that leaks at the swivel:
  1. Unscrew the shower-head body from the swivel-ball ring.
  2. Find the O-ring or a similar seal inside. Replace it and screw the shower head back into place.
  3. Turn off the water supply and open the faucet handle to relieve water pressure.
  4. Carefully loosen the coupling nuts at the shutoff valves and at the base of the faucet.
  5. Carefully remove the supply tubes.
  6. Remove the locknuts that hold the faucet to the sink and lift the faucet out.
  7. Clean the area where the old faucet sat.
  8. As needed, install the new spray hose and supply tubes, if any, through their holes in the sink.
  9. Set the rubber gasket that came with the faucet on the sink where it will be mounted. If no gasket is supplied, apply plumber's putty.
  10. Set the faucet into position and center it.
  11. From under the sink, attach the faucet locknuts to hold it to the sink.
  12. Reinstall the supply lines, then turn them on and test the faucet. Turn it on carefully because the line and faucet have air in them.

Little water comes out my shower head when I take a shower, should I call a plumber, or is this something that I can fix myself?

remove the shower head. and if the water flows normal, its a clogged up shower head. if takeing a shower and the diverter valve goes bad. water will come out of the spout. check out shower head to see if its clogged. sometimes you can soak the head in a good cleaner and it helps it. but if its the showerhead thats plugged. you can always put a new one on also. good-day !

Kohler rite temp with diverter. When the tub is turned on water leaks out the shower head. Changed the diverter didn't fix problem.

You could have a restriction in the tub spout or just too much pressure. Diverter only restricts flow to tub spout so any restrictions to the tub spout will cause water to go up to shower head.

I need a divert valve to fit a 15mm shower head pipe, for a hand shower facility . I have all bathroom fixtures in gold and a valve in gold would be a bonus. Thanks

The piece you need is readily available at most hardware outlets like Lowes and Home Depot. The piece probably is not gold ( since that would cost over $1000 but polished brass. Ask one of the sales staff to give you the correct size (typical sizes are 1/2 inch and 5/8 inch. Take the shower head with you so you be sure you get the correct size.

I I have a 3 way bath/shower/overhead shower mixer valve to fit and am not sure where the pipes should go, there is a hot and cold feed in, but only 2 feeds out, I need feeds for 1. bath filler, 2....

When installing a flexishower head, install it in front of the actual shower head with a diverter switch. If you try to operate two shower heads at once, you may suffer poor water pressure. There are handheld shower sets sold which are installed to existing shower assemblies with ease. Rememer to use plumber's tape and protect your stainless steel by wrapping you pliers teeth in electrical tape.

I have a older Delta shower head/tub combination with scald protection. It leaks from the tub diverter. Where should I start?

I'm assuming that you have a three handle faucet. You need to remove the diverter from the faucet body and while your at it remove the hot and cold stems from the valve body (the parts are inexpensive). Remove the seats inside of the valve body towards the back, replace with new ones. If stems are in good shape, just the washers and seats need to be replaces. If the brass on the diverter or on the hot or cold stems is pitted or marred, then replace the whole thing. The parts should be readily available at most plumbing supply places.

Stopping a shower faucet from dripping

There are two things that can cause the shower valve to leak. One is calicum build up on the vlve parts and the other is the O-rings are worn out. Turn water off that feeds the shower and remove the handle on the shower valve then remove the cover that covers the valve body, next find a wrench that will fit the outside of the valve core and remove the core with stem of the valve. Go to any hardwate store and buy a new gasket kit or o ring kit. This is avaliblity at any hardware store.

Moen shower faucet problem

I need to ask a few questions to solve your problem.

What Model Shower body is it?
How big is the white plastic piece?

If it is about 6 inches around (just smaller than the face plate) and you are installing this shower body in a preexisting tub/shower, this piece can be discarded. It is a guide that is used so the tile contractor knows how much room is needed to service the valve once it is installed.

If this is not the case, just post with a few details and I'll modify my response.
