When I setup/configure my game camera it will take pictures and store them to internal memory, but when I insert an SD card it never stores them to the card. I have tried different cards, different batteries. Also when I do a diagnostics test I get an error code = 000400. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Before installing a sd card, internal memory MUST be erased. From setup, use the up/down buttons near the select button until the display reads "ERASE ALL PICS(MEMORY)? NO" toggle up or down button to get"YES", press the select button and wait until until it says "DONE".
Go to setup screen, power off, intall sd card...should be good to go.

Unlike most brands/ models of cameras, the Sony CyberShot (DSC) cameras feature internal memories, (not enough to hold sufficient data). If you took a few shots before inserting the memory card, the pictures are stored in the internal memory. You can transfer/ delete those pictures by the following steps.
1. switch off the camera,
2 open the battery/ SD card slot cover and remove the SD card.
3. close the cover and switch on
4. press the display/ preview button and your picture should be visible on the screen.
You can now do whatever you want with your picture.

Is the small switch on the side of the SD card pushed up toward contacts? Has the card been formatted by a PC(A NO-NO)? Remove card;turn camera on..go to setup; press up arrow once to get "DELETE ALL IMAGES NO?";press select button to get flashing "NO"; press up or down button once to change flashing NO to flashing YES; press select once...should get "DONE";press select until back in "SETUP...Turn camera off insert SD card and try again...may need new SD card.
Take a look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
You need a separate memory card to store more images on your camera. You camera comes with the ability to store only a few pictures on it.
You need an SD card. They come in different sizes. You can find them pretty much anywhere. The error your getting is your camera telling you it can't store more pictures without an SD card.
Remove the SD memory card from the camera, go into menu and locate "format" follow the prompt to remove all photo's from the internal memory, when completed install the SD card back in the camera to resume normal operation.
You need to get rid of the pictures in the internal memory. If you want to save any of them, go into the menu and find "copy". You will find the option to copy them to a memory card. Then, with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"....follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then your card should work properly.
Hello. You can either transfer your pictures to a computer with a usb cable or insert a sd memory card to to store more pictures. If you have a memory card look in your menu settings for the option to copy internal memory to memory card. Another option,if you have a usb cable is to go to a photo center at a department store or drug store and plug the camera into one of thier photo machines. You can then print or copy pictures to CD. Store workers can usually help you with this.
1) This camera accepts SD cards up to 4 GB in capacity. Most 4 GB SD cards however, are "SDHC" types (check the label to determine which type you are using). If you are using a 4 GB "SDHC" card, it may be causing the problem, as it is not an "SD" card. Furthermore, any card greater than 4 GB is not compatible with the camera. Any SD card with a capacity less than 4 GB should work without issue.
2) Check the position of the lock or "protect" tab on the side of a compatible SD card to be sure it is in the unlock position. The camera will be unable to write to a locked or protected card.
