Question about Asko Dishwashers

2 Answers

We have a n eight year old fully integrated asko dishwasher. Only the rinse cycle works, so I rinse many times - last rinse with detergent and then run the short program which does not wash, but will dry the dishes. The circuit board was replaced once before under warranty($500.00 labour) and I suspect that we may have to do the same again. Can we find this on the internet and do it ourselves; we have good electrical knowledge. Thank you in advance.

This is most likely an issue with the timer. Timers don't often fail. But if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault. Dishwasher timers can't be repaired. If yours is defective, replace it. Best bet is to call in a repair man to run a few tests and zccurately diagnose the cause.

However, considering that your machine is 8 years old and you've already got it repaired once, my honest advice would be to get yourself a new machine, preferably a Whirlpool or Kitchenaid dishwasher. A really, really good and quiet one will run you about $500. If you want the stainless steel interior (though, I don’t see the point of this for a residential dishwasher) it’ll run you a few hundred more.

Asko is not a very reliable machine. (Its a wonder yours lasted all of 8 years!) Their dishwashers are famous in the repairing community as electrical nightmares – their defining characteristic is spontaneous combustion....you pay twice as much for a dishwasher that breaks down twice as often, takes twice as long to get parts for, and costs twice as much to repair.

Hope that helps!

Asko D5457 DISHWASHER. Dishes are clean but not dry.. Especially plastics on top eack despite long dry selected. Any ideas as to what may be occurring?

Unfortunately, plastic will not dry well if at all in this model. The only heat for drying is the residual heat left in the dishware after the hot rinse cycle. Plastics do not have enough thermal mass to hold on to the heat long enough to dry. Also, you MUST use a rinse agent in this washer. Those detergent packets with rinse aid in it is not enough. Make sure to keep the rinse aid dispenser full.

My Asko D1976 dishwasher is not cleaning dishes properly. There is a lot of clumped detergent left in the dispenser after wash cycles are complete, and many of the dishes have dried-on food left on them. ...

First of all, don't pre-rinse the dishes. Check the water temperature, it should be between 120 and 140 degrees. Be sure you are not partially blocking the dispenser door so that it isn't opening.

Try more or less detergent. Is rinse aid solution and detergent dispensers working properly? Otherwise, you may have an issue with quality of water.

Asko 1805 dishwasher detergent door does not despense the detergent during the wash cycle. At the conclusion of the dishwasher cycle the door is still closed. How do you repair?

First make sure that nothing is blocking it.. when you load the dishwasher...next make sure your dishwasher cycle is NOT on rince and hold ( water spraying on a plate symbol) as this cycle will not open the despence door..

last you can remove the screws in the door check the vax motor and or check if you are getting power to the despencer ( no power replace control)
power to vax motor replace despencer motor

Hope it helps if Not let me know more about you problem..I can help

Neff Integrated slimline - Programme does not complete.

IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH ITS NOT HEATING DETERGENT AND RINSE AID INTRODUCED INTO COLD WATER WILL GENERATE A LOT OF FOAM,IS APPLIANCE WARM INSIDE AT END OF CYCLE?OR IT COULD BE TOO MUCH RINSE AID IF IT IS FILLED WITH RINSE AID AND YOU ARE USING A TABLET WITH RINSE AID COMBINED IT WILL HAVE TOO MUCH TO USE IN ONE WASH.

ASKO 1605

Hi Guys
My dishwasher this morning has desided to not work correctly.
Its a ASKO 1302 about 20 years old. It has been a very good machine.
Over the last couple of weeks during the washing cycle, the dishwasher has been making a loader noise than usual.
1. Today, the dishwasher timer, travels all the way through its cycle, but very little washing take place.
2. Soap power is still there, plates not clean!!!!
3. Water is hot
4. At the end of the cycle, there is no water in the dishwasher.
5. I'm thinking the problem could be the pump needs replacing.
What do you think?

GE Nautilus won't drain after Rinse Cycle

Check disposer plug. If a garbage disposer has been recently installed, it is possible the disposer drain plug was not removed. The drain plug is a plastic piece in the disposer that blocks the hole where the dishwasher hose connects. Also check the hose connected to the disposal. Mine apparently had a kink in it. When I straightened the hose the dishwasher drained at full speed (I recently had a plumber re-route a hot waterline. He must has bent the hose). Hope this helps. If not go to the GE website. That's where I found my answer.
