It sounds like you have an infection of some kind. Download a virus checker and a malware checker and scan the pc.

http://www.spybot.de is a good malware checker
http://free.avg.com/ is a good virus checker

If you cannot stay online long enough using your PC you will have to do the downloading on a friends PC and copy the installation files to yours.

I would recommend loading Spybot 1st and run it several times.

Run a scan, fix the results
REBOOT THE PC
Run a scan, fix the results
REBOOT THE PC

until it finds no more issues.

Repeat the process with AVG.

Then go to http://update.microsoft.com
select "Custom" and select all the updates it offers you.

Keep doing this until it offers you no more updates.

If this does not work then your PC may have an infection that needs to be trouble shot more specifically. At this stage you need to decide weather to spend the time diagnosing it or just reinstall the PC from scratch. With may infections a reinstall is the only way to be sure it is gone.

How can I find a driver for internet explorer on windows xp?

Well internet explorer doesn't have a driver. Drivers are for hardware such as video cards, keyboards and mice, etc. If you are having problems with IE you can try re-installing it or upgrading here:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/download-ie

If you are having trouble connecting to the internet through IE then you may need to update the driver for your network adapter. That is about the best answer I can come up with since there really aren't any details to your problem. Try replying back with your issue and we can take a look at it.

My computer runs really slow, freezes, internet explorer hardly ever works. help!!

There is no such thing as a windows vista machine. You can install different operating systems on different machines. Your problem is most likely that you're missing drivers for the peripherals.
Download a program called "driver easy" and run it. It will tell you what drivers are missing, once you get all the drivers installed you should find things work better, like once you get your network running then internet explorer will stop having problems.

Explorer will not open, it either freezes and does not respond or it crashes.

Is this Internet Explorer or File Explorer? If its Internet Explorer then try this:

Goto Start > Run
in the Run box type 'explorer' without the quotes
in the address bar of explorer type in the website address you are trying to go to.

If that works then you need to uninstall and reinstall Internet Explorer or better yet uninstal IE and install FireFox.

Hello there:
Internet explorer has been having this problem for some time now it may just come and go so what i would suggest doing is first switching to Mozilla Firefox.. it handles multiple internet pages a lot better than windows explorer does and it is a lot faster too ad also depending on what you are using to connect to the internet has a lot to do with it too if you are using a dsl i would consider getting a hold of your dsl provider and asking them about switching over to a static or a dynamic link ip this way you will have the straight 1 on 1 instead of having the network going thru several tunnels before it get to you ok
Hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards Michael

I am having a problem logging in to my online banking i am getting a time out dislpay i have talked with sov.bank and they say because this is a new explorer site they do not except it and i should go...

Personally, Internet explorer just doesn't cut it for a lot of my websites. I've actually had the same exact problem. I've all but completely switched to Firefox web browser. It's backwards compatible with almost every site I've ever visited and I've noticed many fewer crashes.

Try firefox at www.firefox.com and see if that works better for you. The best thing about this browser is, the site I visit that must be viewed with internet explorer are viewable. They have a downloadable add-on that lets you run internet explorer in a firefox tab. :)

I hope this helps out, but other then my idea there isn't much you're going to be able to do. If their banking tools won't allow IE8, then you've gotta bite the bullet and use something else.

Microsoft Internet Explorer is prone to problems. IE7 has less, but I still recommend to people to use Mozilla as a browser and not Internet Explorer.

Download and run MOZILLA
After getting up on the net with mozilla download and install Internet Explorer updates.

Explore.exe, application error, memory could not be written

this is probably relating to explorer which is your desktop display for a specific programme. Explore as you say, or do you mean internet explorer, if so download updates for windows. It could also refer to a virus, so when you reinstalled did the recovery cd format the drive first then install or just install over the top of the original installation. If it did format first then it will not be virus. The system crash will be because the system is probably using up all the remaining memory.
