I can start my 1999 crown Victoria with spark plug #1 disconnected but, if I connect it, it will shut off and will blow the fuse

A bad plug boot or coil is shorted bend the boot back and forth it will show a crack or even break if it's to brittle if not that coil or the wire or plug is dhorted out look at the wire for torn insulation making contact to ground if not coils bad and maybe cracked letting the positive voltage escape to ground and blowing the fuse try to check it in the dark while someone cranks the engine the voltage leak will be seen as a spark

Why is my heated auto dimming driver side and rear view mirror getting dark when driving

Look in the fuse box for the fuse it will likely have other things on it but nothing to high voltage .
Pull the fuse and see what happens .
Honestly I have never heard of this .
Unless the mirrors lit or damaged somehow from to much heat damaging the coating on the back of the glass making it not a mirror any more .
This sounds like a factory defect

I reset my surge protector and the computer wont power up. i think i need a new power supply. the power cord is working fine. Please let me know where i can find a power supply for the aspire...

The Acer Aspire L100 is a desktop computer powered by a special DC adapter and power cable. The computer's motherboard incorporates a fuse designed to prevent any power surges from damaging the computer. If the fuse burns out due to a power surge or for any other reason, the computer will no longer function. You can check the motherboard fuse for damage yourself, then take it to a trained technician for replacement if needed

Shut down the Acer Aspire L100 and turn the tower around.

Press the "On/Off" button on the front of the tower. If the computer will not boot and the fan does not turn on, the fuse may be burned out.

Unplug the power cord from the rear of the tower

Turn the tower on its side and remove the Phillips-head screws connecting the back panel to the Aspire L100's cabinet.

Pull out the motherboard assembly gently from the back of the cabinet. The internal fuse is located on the motherboard behind the DC power jack, which is to the right of the monitor jack

Let me know if this helped..

I changed the NIC card in my HP pavilion and now my machine will not power up. It was working fine prior to this. Could I have blown a fuse or something? Any suggestions?

While there isn't a "fuse" to blow, there are several things that could prevent your system from booting after making hardware change. However, there is a distinct difference between not booting and not powering on, and for further troubleshooting we'd need to know which is the problem. In the mean time, here are some things to consider:
    1. An incredibly small amount of static electricity can short your motherboard and prevent the system from booting at all. Whenever you do any time of hardware update or configuration change, always where an electrostatic discharge wristband to prevent damage to your system.
    2. If you somehow unseated the processor from the motherboard during your upgrade, then the processor would lose some of its ability to dissipate heat, which would cause an automatic shutdown.
    3. It is possible that you loosened a wire/jumper/plug that was integral to the boot system of your computer.

Emachines T3410 won't boot, black screen, no cursor

I had this same problem, none of the posters above have no clue what there talking about. With the K8M51gc MB, if the dust builds and then the system heats, it can and will blow a cap. Nothing you can do will make the board work again without replacing the cap and there are too many to test on the board and need an experienced tech to fix this problem as soldering the components are extremely small. Your best bet is to get another board from ebay and not emachines or gateway. Their site will charge $150 bucks when you can get it for $75 on ebay. You can also use a board from the T3304 as its the same system basically. It sucks I know but this would be your best bet as I had to go through this myself. If you decide to change out the board, run more fans in the system and use screens in place of the fan to prevent dust. Once every other month, use a can of air to blow out any dust on the board as duct can conduct electric through the board. Hope this helps...
