Question about Acer Aspire 5630 Notebook
Ok. Thirst thing. Check the label on the bottom of your laptop to check which version of windows your computer was fitted with in the beggining .It should be either Home SP2, Professional SP2 or Media Center Edition with Rollup 2. Then get your hands on a CD of the EXACT SAME version. Also take note of the Serial Number. You will need it later. (This all is so you will not have problems with Windows activation).
Now, the real work begins.
First, backup everything you need from your C: drive.
Restart your computer, enter BIOS Setup and set your CD/DVD drive as the first boot device.
Exit BIOS (when it prompts to save, say yes). Your computer will restart and ask you to press a key to boot from CD. Do so.
It will load windows setup, and at a time will appear a screen asking if you want to install, repair or exit. Choose install. From there the rest is self explanatory.
P.S.: If possible, download all the drivers from the ACER website:
