Dell Monitor 2001FP Blank Screen

When the monitor is powered up it will flash the Ultra Sharp Logo then nothing. If it is connected to computer it will stay awake but just a blank screen. If not connected to computer it will go to sleep within a few seconds with the green light turning amber. Can anyone help us with this problem?
Thanks,
Mark & Tina

I have to ask.......  Do you have it on the D-Sub position (if running VGA) or the DVI-D position (Running HD mode)?  If it's in the wrong input position (there are 4 available),then the monitor will look like it's working but the screen will be blank (act exactly as you describe).   If you have it on the right input and still have a blank screen, then I have to agree with Pulliam.

From your description your backlight is going out. The fluorescent light when it begins to burn out tries to draw too much power. Your inverter is sensing this 'too much' power draw and shuts down power to the back light. Replacing the backlight is the most technically difficult repair of an LCD, and most repair shops don't even offer this service. I recommend that you sell your LCD 'AS IS' on eBay or a similar website. The Power board and the Control Board are both usable parts that can be easily salvaged from most Dell Ultrasharp monitors.

Dell Ultra Sharp 2001FP LCD Monitor has a green horizontal bar on the screen.

This is because the LCD is not getting power through to that section of the grid. Sorry, it can't be fixed unless you have an electronics engineer you can take it to and given that it is electrical failure on the grid and not the actual crystals which are burnt out/damaged.

My new Dell flat screen monitor is blank and posting a message - entering power save mode- ... when I restart it briefly displays the Dell logo and other normal display at normal startup then switches to...

You'll need to troubleshoot a little. SOmething may be broken, but you'll need to find out what. 1: Try the monitor on another computer, see wether it will work on that one. If it doesn't, the monitor's broken and you're probably going to need a new one. 2: If the monitor does work, put it back, but now use another cable to connect it to the PC. If that fixes it, your cable was broken. 3: If not, you could try to switch the graphics card in the PC with another one. Do not attempt that, however, unless you know what you're doing. If you don't, get someone you know to do it for you, or take it to a computer shop. If the PC will boot with another graphics card, the old one is broken. 4: If not, it may be your motherboard that's broken. Repeat step 3 with it. These steps should fix your problem. If not, please post back here. Regards, Yannick.

I have seen many of these. It appears the video processor board is dying or dead. You can replace the board or the monitor.
