I keep getting a paperjam message but there is no paper in the machine.

I had a very bad paper jam with ripped paper involved. I've gotten all the paper the eye can see and fingers can reach out (top, front, and back openings) but I am still getting the "paper jam" notice. I've disconnected and reconnected, closed all the doors, all to no avail. All the manual says is to remove the printer head. I don't want to do that for fear of damaging it, and the manual doesn't direct how to anyway. I have a Brother MFC-465-CN. Thanks in advance--

+For months now I have had the same or similar problems with my printer. Repeated attempts to clear paper path, opening and closing doors, etc. would usually result in resuming print operations. However, this has become more frequent and is accompanied with gear stripping noises. I have looked through the machine as best I can to detect any paper or foreign matter with no luck. Finally, tonight the machine is simply not even recovering. I unplugged the machine and plugged it back in and all it does not is show "Please Wait". If I press the off switch it will respond with some gear or head movement noises then stops again without further action.

I can see paper stuck in the printer but can't get it out from the lift up lid or from the back. I dont know what the ACF lid is but assume it is the one with the blue support. I cant find any black switch. Please help.

I have he same machine. I found the solution elsewhere on this site for another Brother Copier.

Lift the ADF lid locate the little black plastic 'switch', slightly recessed in the fourth slot from the back of the printer, gently tap this swith so it moves, I tried forwards then back, close lid, press Stop/Exit.

Ding Dong! - Works a treat.

My kyocera KM 1815 keeps saying "paper jam 00 open left cover and remove paper jam but there is no jam

Hi

Check all the paper movement from the tray, left or right cover, front cover, if so then remove jammed paper. Otherwise the paper sensor spring guide missing or fell off from its original position. Check carefully where the sensor locate. paper sensors detect all the paper movement in the machine during copying or printing, so locate the place in the machine which the paper usually jammed, see the screen of the machine, it will locate the place where the paper jammed mostly. Sensor not return to it original position that is why ( remove paper jam keeps blinking)

Paper jam on screen will not reset

To clear the error message Paper Jam after you removed the jammed paper, open and close the scanner cover.
If you still receive the error message, a small piece of paper may be stuck inside your Brother machine.

Refer the below link for the steps to remove any ripped paper remaining inside your Brother machine:

We have a sp 3250 all in one printer. We had a paper jam. We removed the paper jam and now the printer is telling us that there is still a paper jam. Please tell me what to do next. Thank you.

It is just sensing as if you haven't yet removed the jam. So, while switched on, keep pressing the load or toner or cancel buttons on top. Also make sure you cleared the printing queue that was instructed when the paper jammed.

202.01 and 202.03 Paper Jam

The 202.03 error code has to do with an early life failure of the fuser. Try replacing the fuser. If that doesn't work, a tech is needed to replace rear door. Don't forget to reset maintenance counts when you replace fuser!!

Dear, there is very minor mechanical fault but it is better to visit the repair shop to fix it.

Paper Jam error message

try this
  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

PAPER jAM

According to the manual, the paper may be inside the right side door, or in the paper tray.

If you have the manual, its on page 6-2.

If you don't have the manual, it's here:
