Question about GE Profile Harmony WPGT9360E 4.0 Cu. Ft. King-Size Washer with Stainless Steel Basket
I have a new GE Profile Harmony top loader. I washed 5 loads in it the first day with no problems. Second day, while washing a load it says there was a problem with the unit. I ran the diagnostics as I read on previous posts. When I held down the MY CYCLE & BACK buttons..it said the error was with the motor not working correctly. I unplugged the machine for 3 mins and plugged it back up. It ran thru the initial diagnostics again and said there was no problem. It then completed the load of laundry. Does this unit have a defective motor? HELP
It is very easy to replace the motor, however you most likely only have to replace the Hall sensor on the motor. To do either, you will have to lay machine on it's side. One bolt takes off outer part of motor, and if I remember correctly, six (10mm socket) bolts to take off the inner parts, plus a couple phillips head screws for wire retainer and ground wire. Hall sensor is the white plastic part clipped on the inner part of the motor.
