Harman Kardon DPR 2005 7.1 back speakers out

Normal set up though only the front 3 speakers work (L/R and center), back 4 do not. I did play music very loud last week, never cracked or sound out of normal though. now my back 4 speakers do not work, all speakers test ok and using ipod to 6/8 inputs sounds great.
any suggestions, Thank You

HOW TO RESET HARMAN KARDON AVR70

Hi, Try this. Hope this helps and I have the link here to the manual.
Processor Reset
If the AVr behaves erratically after a power surge, first turn off the front-panel
main
power switch and unplug the Ac power cord for at least 3 minutes. plug the cord back
in and turn the AVr on. If this procedure doesn't help, reset the AVr's processor as
described below.
note: resetting the processor will erase all user configurations, including speaker and
level settings, and tuner presets. After a reset, reenter all of these settings from your
notes in the Appendix worksheets.

To reset the AVR's processor:

1. press the front-panel Standby/on switch to place the unit in the Standby mode (the
Standby Indicator led will turn amber).
2. press and hold the front-panel Standby and memory/folder buttons until the reSet
message appears on the front-panel message display.
3. press the memory/folder button again to reset the AVr's processor.
If the AVr does not function correctly after a processor reset, contact an authorized
harman
kardon service center for assistance.

My harman kardon avr 100 keeps cutting out every 3 secs. i can hear the music but constently keeps cutting off. its very annoying... any ways to fix this probem?

Check the impedance of the speaker wires going into the amplifier. It sounds like at least one set of speakers is overloading the amp (shorted, or almost shorted)

Cause of a hissing sound from left front channel receiver

Recheck all of your connections and make sure they are ok. Also watch out for noise from the power supply and other electrical devices. Components with heavy power usage, fans or lazers
can create interferance. Run your speaker cables away from these sources. Also watch when bundling wires too many or the wrong ones togerther can cause this problem.

I have a Harmon Kardon DPR 1001 and I added an additional set of rear speakers and on the OSD it is not recognizing the speakers

On page 19-20 you must tell it that it has surround back speakers (something other than NONE). They aren't just 'recognized'.

How does the speaker wire physically connect to the Harman Kardon DPR 2005?

You have 7 pairs of plastic binding posts.

Unscrew the post until it comes out an eighth of an inch.

You will see two spaces in the black plastic one at the top and one at the bottom of each binding post. That space is for the wire. Strip half an inch of jacket off your speaker wire and slip the stripped part inside the hole and screw the binding post down on it and it will squeeze the wire against the contacts.

If you find that difficult since the posts are so close tommorow, a "Banana Jack" may be put on the wire then pushed into the hole in the binding post.

It is difficult to describe in writing but onece you see it you will understand.

Black posts are the negative, they are all on a common ground. Coloured posts are positive.

Sounds like the power supply or associated module. Definitely fixable, but probably needs a technician.

Problem is it is a common problem. I have one with the same thing, it appears as though HK discoed the line for a reason and sold them all at half price in Costco.
