Only part of the screen lights up and it won't scan right
I have had this since Feb 08. It worked fine until a few weeks ago. Now when I plug it into my cigarette lighter it only shows part of the lights on the screen and will not stop flashing the scan. Does not work at all
Re: only part of the screen lights up and it won't scan...
I contacted the company and they are sending me a new one. They have a great 3 year warranty and seem to be more than willing to replace. I just have to return the original one within 20 days and then I will not be charged for the new one. I do have my receipt but they didn't even ask for it. Thankyou

I have the same problem... when I plug the power supply, the green led glows constantly for a few seconds like the volume up button is pressed or the remote button is pressed and hits the full volume and starts flashing. It started off this week as the humidity in my locality stayed over 98% for a few days due to the rains. Not sure if its a short circuit in the buttons due to moisture settling on dust and making an open contact! Its over a year old and out of warranty so thinking of hair dryer-ing it for a while... hopefully it works! Any one else with this problem? With a solution??? or is it a faulty power supply?? I must also try a multimeter on the power jack.
If it is only two months old, put it in for repair under warranty. The fact that two devices don't charge indicate it is probably faulty. Before you do, first check all the obvious things. Check the docking cradle is clear of fluff, paper or cat hair. Check that any switches are in the on position. Check that all cables are plugged in. You may not have changed anything, but someone else may have.
I just bought four units, 2 of them work fine but the other two have problem, but one of the unit did get charged up even without the charger light on. I switch on the unit, leave it plug in for a few days and the unit come back charged. I try with the other one, but it is not working.
I faced a similar problem with Mine a couple of days ago. Try these below 1. Keep the unit plugged to the wall socket (and charge). Green light (indicating charging) may not glow. It doesnt matter. Keep it on for a few hours. 2. Then try to turn on the unit. 3. If it still doesnt turn on, fold the unit and keep it aside for a few mins (say 10 mins). 4. Open it and then try to turn it on.
Had the same problem. I resolved it by removing my iPod from the dock and unplugging the SoundDock. I waited a few seconds and plugged the SoundDock back in. I then placed my iPod back into the dock.
I played a song and tried to use the right/skip button to skip to the next song. At first it didn't work. Then, I held the right button down for a few seconds. After that, all buttons worked just fine.
I hope this works for you. In case it doesn't, here is what the user manual says:
• Remove your iPod from the dock, wait five seconds, then firmly reseat the iPod in the dock. • Try the remote from a different location. If it works there, check for interference from bright room lights or sunlight. Wipe off the small lens on the front end of the remote with a clean, dry cloth.
• Make sure there is a clear pathway between the remote lens and your SoundDock system.
• Remove and reinsert the battery as shown on page 6.
• Replace the remote control battery as shown on page 6.
Had the same problem today. I turned the receiver off, plugged in the ipod, turned the receiver back on. The white screen came back on again. With the ipod plugged into the dock, I reset the Ipod (menu and center button till Apple logo appears). Ipod reset and problem solved. I'm listening to the music now!
