Try cleaning the lens of your DVD player either by a lens cleaning CD or remove the dvd cover and clean the lens using a soft cotton bud dipped in Shaving lotion or Lens cleaning liquid.

My daughter's portable DVD player says no disc

You need to clean the lens - use a can of compressed air and a q-tip. Rub gently, the suspension of the lens is very sensible and can be easily damaged beyond repair.

It Loads but doesnt spin and said "no disc."

Try cleaning the lens with a DVD Disc Cleaner or Methylated Spirit and a Q-tip, rub the lens slowly in a clockwise motion, leave to dry and put in a DVD, if it doesnt work try a CD but make sure they dont have any scratches or dust on them, if a CD works ( or not ) then your lens is knackered.

Will not play DVD, that was in playing before removing it.

Try resetting the player. To reset check the DVD-player manual. If it doesn't work then try cleaning disc surface with a soft cloth. Remember to clean the disc radially inside out not in a circular manner i.e put cloth on inner circle and move towards outer edge in straight line).

WILL NOT READ SOME BOUGHT MOVIE DISCS

one of the solutions before spending $$ is, you need to open the unit remove the dvd loader,CAREFULL OF PLUGS AND RIBBON CABLES!!! open the dvd loader, clean the laser GENTLY WITH A CLEAN COTTON TIP, and re assemble. if that doesnt fix the units issue, the second option is you will need to replace the dvd loader, part number is found on white or yellow sticker. hope this helps.
