There is absolutely no food stuck in the bottom. I am very clean and check it weekly. Please help if you have any other ideas. thanks in advance. Missy

  • mbmorrison Oct 09, 2008

I still do not have a solution. Let me explain again. The red light is on and constantly beeping I can still open and close the drawers while this is happening. I never started the bottom drawer and the problem occurred in both drawers. The motor begins to run and become very hot as the water wand spins around. I can see all of this. I should not be able to open the drawer though. The only way the to turn it off is to unplug the dishwasher. It is three years old and costs over $1200.00. /not under warranty anymore. If not fixable a do not recommend this product. It has never really cleaned as well as the CD shows it should. I have two bottom of the line Bosch dishwaters and they clean beautifully!!! PLease help! needless to say I have called a service technician to come on 10/13

Fisher/Paykel has made several revisions to the parts in your unit, including the lid seal system. You would have to go by your serial number to see what you need to upgrade.

F/P does not give technical support to unauthorized servicers or laypeople as a general rule but you may try. Call Brisbane, Australia Tech Support at 888-936-7872. Their support staff is there anytime, 24 hours a day.

You can order a service and parts manual there and any other part you will need there. Parts are shipped from their California warehouse.

It may be that the DW thinks the drawer may have been pulled open. On
the right side, near the top. there are two light pipes on the drawer.
One sends an infrared beam of light to a reflective area on the
cabinet, the other receives this light. This is how the drawer senses
whether the drawer is open or closed. Wipe these areas with a clean dry
    cloth.

We had the same thing happening with ours. We had a tech come out. He told us to shut the breaker off and open the drawers. We had to run a fan in front of the dishwasher to dry it out. It had something to do with moisture in the unit. After it was dried out, we turned the breaker back on and it worked fine. Unfortunately, this happens every year or so. I hope this helps.

We had the same problem with ours. We had a tech come out. He told us to shut the breaker off and open the drawers. We then had to put a fan in front of the dishwasher to dry it out. He said moisture was in there causing the malfunction. After we dried it out, we turned the breaker back on and had no problems. Unfortunately, this happens about once every 2 years or so. I hope this helps.

Have a look to make sure something has not fallen into the pump assembly, sometimes a hard piece ( like a pit ) or small utensil can fall into the pump .

Check to make sure which style d/w you have as outlined above. The direct drive dishwashers have a drain solenoid attached to the motor and pump or a separate drain valve that must be checked with a ohm or volt meter. The drain solenoid and valve energize and opens the drain port to allow the water to pump out. For a "no drain" problem, always start with the common stuff first...a kinked or clogged drain hose. The drain hose must be checked and cleaned out and if you have to, remove the drain hose(s) to fully check and clean them. Don't forget the drain system sometimes consists of a self cleaning body that also can get clogged and stop the dishwasher from draining. If your drain hose needed to be lengthened a hose connector was probably used, these hose connectors are slightly smaller than the drain hose and food bits often get clogged there, also the tail pipe piece that connects the drain hose from your d/w to the house drain is also another popular place to get a clog. On the forward/reversing style of dishwashers that won't drain, make sure the motor is reversing to drain the water out. If the motor does not reverse to drain, the motor, wires ( especially where the doors bends to open and close ) and timer will have to be checked. If the motor is reversing and running, the pump impellor inside the motor and pump assembly may be damaged and is incapable of pushing the water out to drain. If the drain solenoid or drain valve checks ok on the direct drive motor and pump, the impellor inside may also be damaged as mentioned above.
Always check the drain spout under the sink for a d/w that will not drain, also if the Air gas is leaking ( see Fig1A ) this is a clogged air gap or drain and normally not a d/w problem. These are some typical drain hook ups....if you have a drain question, may be a good idea to refer to one of the figures so we all know which style you have :-)

Turn Lock off. Hold down the LOCK button until the 'ock' symbol (pre-finished models) or the green light (integrated models) disappears and press the DishDrawer™ POWER button to open the drawer.

Have a Fisher & Paykel two drawer built in, each drawer will start running, but stops many times thru the cycle and starts beeping.

The dishdrawer is a very sophisticated dishwasher and is very sensitive to dirt collecting inside and in the drain hoses. My suggestion would be to first clean the drawers from inside with damp cloth, especially around the top panel. Buy Finish dishwasher cleaning kit (one for each drawer) from the supermarket. Select longest cycel on dishwasher and run each drawer with the cleaning kit inside as per instructions on the kit.
See if this makes any difference.

How to get bottom drawer out of fisher paykel dd6031

I wasn't able to find an exact match to your reported model (DD603I?), but all of the DD60xx models appear to have the same drawer removal process:

2_23_2012_6_18_56_am.jpgI actually took this from the installation guide for the KitchenAid dishdrawer (also made by F&P), since it had the clearest images.

My fisher dd6031 bottom drawer doesn't seem to get rid of all the water,,and it keeps beeping and will keep beeping through the night if you don't catch it...we have been putting it through another rinse...

You will have to take the filter plate out the motor rotor out. Then clean the rotor cavity and replace in reverse order.

Are you getting any error codes?
Does the beeping stop if you turn the power off and on?

Fisher Paykel double drawer dishwasher DS6031

you have an overflow leak problem....shut off circuit breaker or pull fuse....let it dry out for up to 4 days; hopefully overnight; peak under dryer and feel metal drip pan and if wet you might be able to dry with a hair dryer...WHY? the lid did not seal when you put cycle on...the lid lowers and you had something..typically too bid glasses on second shelf that was above the seal lip of the tub...stack correctly after this and no worries...
