Just swap it out....pretty simple but do NOT touch the new ignitor.Only touch the ceramic part of it.Oil from your skin will shorten its life.

Flame sencer lockout on a goodman GPG133

Turn the furnace power off & on. Watch to see if starts. If there is no ignition check ignitor whether spark or hot surface. If there is flame that cuts out, clean the sensor

What's your problem? goodman furnace lights, burns 10 secs goes out

Hello, sounds like you have a dirty flame sensor. This is a metal rod on the oppositenside of the hot surface ignitor. turn off power to the furnace and remove the flame sensor, then use steel wool and clean the flame sensor and reinstall. Next turn back power to Furnace.

Ten yr old Goodman residential furnace won't light even though hot surface ignitor glows red for 1 or 2 seconds.

Make sure you have gas on. Tap on the valve as the ignitor glows. The valve may just be stuck. If not- I'm thinking the funace needs a new ignition module.

I have had to replace the hot surface ignitor every year (its 4 years old and I have replaced the hot surface ignitor 3 times) on my furnace--is this a problem with all these furnaces or did I get a lemon?

I would check the grounding from the circuit board to cabinet, the ground coming in to the power of the furnace as well as the ground lug in your panel box. These furnaces are polarity specific and the wrong polarity or a loose ground will effect the longevity of the ignitor. Always buy a spare.

I have a goodman 6mnte080-4. Home had power failure and furnace went to working intermittently. led is on 8 flash- ignitor or improper ground.. sometimes runs through full cycle--sometimes hot surface...

Check out the green wire going to the gas valve for proper ground, and also check all wires for good connections......... for the intermitting start / stopping and sand the fame sensor pin, this should do the trick.

My heater does not turns on, the circuit board without fuse, makes the inducer motor work. this is a goodman heater.

if this is a high effeciency model, the venting may not be clear or the drain may be partially plugged. if you hear any sort of water gurgling in the inducer motor, you probably have one of these conditions. if that checks, see if you have 110 volts to the hot surface ignitor. if you read voltage there after the inducer comes up to speed, then you need a new hot surface ignitor. if no voltage, then the pressure switch is still not closing. concentrate on the condensate drain and furnace venting.

Furnace will not come on but thermostat is showing information

turn off power to furnace and open the front panel and see if you can see burners and gas valve and Hot surface ignitor.
If you can. turn furnace on and watch to see if the ignitor glows.
Let me know what you find. If it doesn't glow you probably have a faulty Hot surface ignitor.
If I had make and model number I should be able to find the part

My furnace fires up and runs for about 30 seconds,, then the gas shuts off

First we need to understand what is probably happening by understanding how this unit works.
A flame safety senses a flame and if one is not present it shuts off the gas supply. This safety is incorporated to make sure that if the flame goes out for any reason, it doesn't continue to dump gas into the furnace. Because I have no idea what type of sensors this unit uses, can you explain to me what kind of ignitor it has? See if it has a spark, or a hot surface ignitor. The hot surface ignitor will glow very bright white but looks like it's made of ceramic.
