I have a Hotpoint BF71 dishwasher. I put it on but it hasn't worked, it filled with water which won't drain not will it even start now. I took out the filter but I couldn't find any blockages Help!

Reset the power at the breaker, but you may need a new pump and motor assembly. The same pump washes and drains on most Hotpoint models- a solenoid is used to open a drain flap and let the water out, but a bad pump will equal no wash or drain... I have a error code on my Hotpoint FDF 780P code reads A-10 can I fix this?

Please refer Hotpoint dishwasher error codes listed on this site.

http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/fault-codes/dishwasher-fault-codes/3350-hotpoint-aquarius-fdf-dishwasher-fault-codes.html

Code A10 seems to indicate some problem with water heater or circuit involving water heater and thermostat. These are not easy to fix on your own unless you have some experience with repair of dishwashers. Some tips on fixing this are given here.http://www.justanswer.com/uk-appliance/38uhf-hi-i-hotpoint-dishwasher-fdf780-think-work.html

I've used two web sites searspartsdirect.com and repair clinic.com
both have diagrams and probably can have them at your house within days! The first one probably has more diagrams. Good luck

My Hotpoint dishwasher won't fill with water. I have not used it for quite a while and last time I've used it (about a year or two ago) it worked fine.

abviosely check that there is water going into it but also check the float switch. There should be a bobber type of thing that goes up and down when the water fills in there. Move that up and down to see if it's stuck. You should here a click of a switch when doing that. If that doesn't do it let me know.

Empties and fills but boils the water

Can you hear/see any washing sound/spray, it sounds to me like the wash pump could be faulty.
