I have received a Lexmark x5150 fomr a relative and they can not find the manual or the software to connect to my computer. Could you help me in any way? Also I went to Walmart to get the two cartridges I needed (82 & 83 )and they did not have it. Where can I purchase them?

I recommend you use the Lexmark X5150 driver from the Lexmark website. But first, make sure there are no existing Lexmark X5150 driver on your computer. Go to the Start menu -> Programs -> Lexmark X5100 Series -> Tools -> Uninstall. Reboot pc when prompted.
To reinstall, click on this link Lexmark X5150 Drivers.
Select your operating system by clicking on
Then click on FILTER.


Click on the Complete Driver under Recommended Downloads. Download, execute the file and follow the instructions on the software. NOTE: Use Vista driver in Windows 7.

The X5150 is a color all-in-one. It takes Lexmark Black 82 and Color 83 or 88 Cartridges. Make sure the Fax software or Lexmark All-in-One software is already installed in your computer. The printer should be connected to a computer with a fax modem. There are no Lexmark X5150 drivers specific for Windows 7, however, the Vista drivers work with it. I suggest not to connect the printer to your computer yet. Download and install the software first. But check your Windows 7 if it's running on 32-bit or 64-bit by clicking on the Windows logo Start button > right click on Computer > Properties. For the driver, click on this link: http://bit.ly/9NLec8 (for 32-bit) or this link: http://bit.ly/dkEaI9 (for 64-bit). Download and install the software. Follow the instructions on the software. The scan software is not included in the driver, however, you can explore the installation cd and manually install the All-in-One scan software. Hope this helps.

With the computer running, plug in the printer connection wire into a USB port. Then turn on the printer. If you're lucky, the computer will tell you it just found new hardware and after a few minutes...2 or 3...will say it's ready to use. If not, it will tell you to install the CD that came with your printer. Then follow the screen prompts. The minimum required is a "driver". Much of the other software on the CD is for photo manipulation or other functions that you may or may not want to do so yo might ignore adding the extra software. Just read the screen for details to decide if you want to install it. Or if you have room on your drive, just install everything and not have to install anything in the future if your needs change.

Drivers should be installed first -- these allow your computer and printer to work together (along with the wiring)

Utilities provide program functionality outlined starting on page 8 or page 21 of your users guide.

Patches fix problems with drivers and/or utilities and should be applied after both are installed.
