Question about Panasonic SC-HT650 System

Hi: I've lost my Connection Schematic that came with my SC-HT650 O/M

The SC-HT650 owners/operators manual has no listing for connecting Surround System to other components, it came with a seperate Schematic Sheet & I've lost it. I need to connect the following: Panasonic SC-HT650 - Rabbit Ears - Insignia Converter Box - 32" Panasonic CT-32SL13 TV - Toshiba D-VR610 DVD Recorder/VCR Combo W/1080p Upconversion. I have no idea in what order or to which component to connect which component. I can find all kinds of online owners manuals but as I stated this is of no use, I can't come up with a Connectivity Schematic. The Converter Box only has the standard Yellow/White/Red cable connections but I generally prefer to use the S-Video connection. I set my TV Audio to "Speakers Off & Fixed Audio Out" My Biggest problem is My Houshold Furniture has been in storage for 2 years after my wife's passing away & I've forgotten how to use my equipment. Any help you could provide me would be most appreciated. Thanks Phillip

Hello!! Plug the rabbit ears into the "antenna input" on the Insignia digital converter. Then connect the insignia converter "antenna out" connection to the Toshiba dvd/vcr "antenna in" connection. Now connect the Toshiba dvd/vcr "antenna out" connection to the Panasonic tv "antenna in" connection. Next you connect "audio out" on the Toshiba dvd\vcr to the "Aux in" or the "Video in" on your Panasonic stereo. Use an RCA cable to do this. Put the red plug into the right "audio out" and the white plug into the left "audio out" of the Toshiba dvd\vcr. Run this cable to your Panasonic stereos' "Aux input". The red plug goes into red connector and the white plug goes into the white connector. Set the tv to channel 3 and the stereo to "Aux Input" to hear the tv audio through your stereo. Good Luck!! Please rate my solution!! Thank you!!

The HDMI cable connection on your system is a video out to your TV.
To get audio from the TV so you can hear it through the system, you need to add a cable from the audio out of your TV to the "aux" input on the panasonic system.
This is most likely a red and white connection which will give you stereo, or pro-logic surround from the system.

My SC-HT650 system reads F61. I think I need a new transformer. Where do I find that?

Not the transformer. probably needs a voltage ic or output ic. F61 is a voltage error code. if it was the power tranformer it would not power up at all. It also could be just a bad fan. The fan should start as soon as you turn it on.

We bought a new Panasonic high definition TV TC-L42D2 and we are unable to see a picture when we try to play a DVD on our Panasonic SC-HT650 System. We only get audio on the DVD. We are sure we have the...

So what's different? The TV. Anything else like the video type (s-video, composite, component)?

Perhaps if you described what cable is carrying video and the point-to-point connection to the TC-L42D2 we'd understand what isn't working.

My Panasonic is Model# SA-ht650. The fan does not come on to cool the unit down. I took the fan out and tested it and it does work with 12 Volts DC @ 1.5 amps. Any suggestions.

For others, the fan on this model only runs with the volume turned way up, to test it unhook the speakers and play something like the radio with the volume set to 0dB, the fan should run.

Just purchased SBHS100AE-K rear speakers to connect to my SC-BT100. I want to connect them wired rather than purchase the wireless transmitter, but I can't figure out how to connect the wired rear speakers...

This unit is not as flexible as traditional receivers are as far as speakers are concerned. Speakers are labeled and *must* be connected to the correct speaker terminals.

Upon reading the manual - it is quite apparent that the only provisions for rear surround speaker connections is only via the optional wireless transmitter / receiver hardware. The optional digital transmitter is connected via a proprietary plug on the rear of the SC-BT100. The optional receiver amplifies the received signal and passes it to the connected surround speakers. I would bet that there are no provisions for amplifying a surround L and R speaker channel inside the SC-BT100, and that it only provides a low level (like a "tape out") or un-amplified signal to the transmitter plug. Even if you were to manage to get the surround speaker connections made up there - you would not be able to hear anything from them - as there is no amplifier. The amplifier is contained in the wireless receiver, and is largely why it requires a connection to house current.

Unfortunately, I doubt you'll find a way to listen the surround channel audio from the SC-BT100 without the optional transmitter / receiver and the integrated amplifier.

You can review the manual like I did here:
http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SCBT100.PDF

I hope this answered your question.

When i connect my panasonic sc-ht650 to my panasonic tv the picture is in b&w? i'm running the video wire(yellow) from the component video out(above the red and blue) to the component video...

Sounds like your tv doesn't have componant video in, just composite video. Try the yellow video out on the dvd player to the same video in on the tv. The red and white on the tv is for audio left and right.

Connecting a ps3 to a Panasonic SC-RT70

Just use the provided A/V connector and connect it to an unused A/V input. You will only get Pro Logic surround with this connection method but since your receiver has no digital or HDMI inputs that's all you can do.

Good Luck,
