Did you replace the fuse yet?

Did the new one blow?

If so, and if it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If so, and if if it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If the new one did not blow, and the microwave still makes a growling or grinding noise, but does not heat, you probably have a shorted high voltage diode or a bad magnetron.

Here are some links you or someone you know can use (in order given) for test help, but read the safety warnings first:

http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/diode.html (if it is NOT shorted, it's probably fine)
http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/cap_test.html
http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/mag_test.html
http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/xformer.html

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

Neither the oven's display nor the oven operate why?

Sounds like you have a blown fuse. Sounds also like it is an over the range unit and you definitely would need help if you have to take it down to work on. Depending on the brand and model, the fuse should be behind the touch panel somewhere. If you put in the brand and model with your question, it did not come through, so I cannot be more specific as to how to get into where the fuse might be located.

Panosonic Microwave convection Model NN-8501V Touchpad appears dead

The unit has a fuse in the power board, but when the fuse is gone it does not even start up. If it starts it is not the fuse.

Look rather a problem with a faulty touchpad, or the magnetron that is not working and need to be changed.

Check also the door sensor.

My Dimension4's convection oven often starts to make grinding noises when it preheats.

From the description it is the turnable motor, eventually it will need to be replaced down the road.

KitchenAid KCMS1555RSS - display completely blank and does not function. Is it worth fixing?

i would try and see if the fuse is blown in unit ... normally behind control panel there is a in line 20 amp fuse that may have blown.... if the unit makes noises when you touch the buttons but no display then you have a bad control board assembly

Microwave making loud noise while heating food. And food does not get warm or hot.

sounds like the magnetron has failed on this unit...it is located in side behind the control panel touch pad and if replaced usually requires disassembly of the outer shell of microwave... it is a common problem with microwaves and can be fixed just requires taking apart unit to do it...good luck to you

Microwave MH7130XEB-2 stopped working while cooking. Is now dead. Check plug and breaker box, they are ok. Is it an internal fuse? If so what part # do I need?

Hello :

Problem with the power transformer or the power PCB . Or it could be just a fuse . You need to check first . If it's the fuse , then that will be easy to solve , you need only to replace it with new one . But if the problem is with the transformer or with the PCB , you need to take your microwave to the service .

You could check for manual here :

Whirlpool MH7130XE Microwave Oven manual .

good luck .

rate please !

While unscrewing a light bulb under a microwave a fuse blew out theirs power to the microwave but it wont turn on

you are more than likely gonna hate my answer
fist thing i would check is your inline fuse
depwnding on the model
unplug the unit
open the door, remove the screw holding the control panel in place, lift the panel up and out
do not disconnect, let hang
you should see a grate right behind the control
behind that grate you should see your fuse
looks light a little metal tube

But I would wait until the authorized servicer gets there (or take it to them) to maintain your warranty.

Microwave made loud popping noise

The magnetron is bad. Probably cost about $50 or $60 for the part. Not too easy to replace, but it can be done.
