1.reset
2.format all the memory
3.reset to factory settings
4.reset again
5.then plug into computer and wait for all the default memory to be put back on , wait about 9 mins
6.then go on sonicstage and it should work , if not e-mail me on dan_simmo23@hotmail.co.uk

Sony NW-A806 big problem

Hi George
Try to reset your player if that fails then try deleting the songs this way
Deleting Files,Pictures,Videos,Audio Books, Apps,etc. from MP3 Player/Ipod
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------BIG WARNING: DO NOT DELETE THE FILES NEEDED TO OPERATE YOUR MP3 PLAYER.
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
ONE MORE BIG WARNING: BE CAREFUL AND DO NOT DELETE THE FILES NEEDED TO OPERATE YOUR MP3 PLAYER.
Please take time to rate me

No songs available for playback please connect to compliant software or device and transfer songs

Ok what I did was,
1) Reset Player
2) Reformat (you WILL loose all you files) Setting->common settings->format (which is at the bottom of the list)
3) Made sure I had the lastest firmwear by going to Settings->Common Settings->Unit Information. The latest firmwear is version 1.03. If yours is not, google it and download it from Sony website.
4) Download Sonic Stage which is Sonys, transfer software from a trusted location. My versions is 4.3. Once you install you have to restart you computer. When you first start the software it will ask you if you want to Scan your computer first music or added it yourself. I let it scan.
5) Then simply plug in you player and transfer you files by drag and drop or right click drop down menu.

No song available for playback. Please connect to compliant software or device and transfer song... This error message is the reaon why I can't use my sone walkman... please advise what should be done.

You can choose Common Settings --> Format

This should delete all your music & video, but after that you can copy back and enjoy. This works for me.
