Question about Mag Innovision 19" LCD Flat-Panel Monitor LT916S

MAG Innovision 900w flat screen... how to?

Hello, I can see the images when I turn on the lamp in my room, not clearly but some dull images...and can tell what's on the screen. So I assume the problem is with the lamp inside the screen. You told on the post earlier to fix about the screen going blank on this flat monitor but you didn't specify how to replace the lamp inside. Like How do I do it, if I want to do it myself? My email is: mbillyh14@gmail.com
Thanks in advance!

This is a common problem due to capacitors in the inverter circuit going bad. The inverter provides the voltage to light the backlight, so the lamp is usually not the problem.

If you open the case on the monitor (sometimes that's a challenge all by itself) and follow the wires from the backlight to the circuit board, you'll find the inverter circuit. There are normally a couple of transformers (they may be small square cases or round coils of wire on black or gray forms), some transistors, and the infamous capacitors. The caps are small cylinders with printed values on them, like 4.7uf, and also a voltage rating. Most of these are values you can find at Radio Shack, so if you or someone you know has soldering experience, you can try changing them. Stick with the original capacitance value (the uf number), but try to get a slightly higher voltage rating if you can. The voltage ratings come in standard values, like 16 volts, 25 volts, etc. The higher voltage parts will be a little bigger but should still fit. They go bad because the rating wasn't high enough to begin with. But it saves the manufacturer a little money on each unit. Make sure you observe the polarity of the capacitor (plus and minus, with some kind of marking on the circuit board to show you) when you put in the new ones.

this means your power inverter inside the monitor is dead. This little gizmo lights up the monitor backlight. They dont fail all at once, but slowly die and give problems like you describe, you can order these online for your monitor , or find one on ebay for under 30 dollars, but unfortunately there is no fix, other than replacing the inverter. sorry. Please use the thumbs up rating if you find my answer helpful, albeit bad news. Take care. .

Replace it.  It would probably cost more to get it repaired.

Black screen

It is most likely that the filter capacitors on the power inverter board have failed. I took mine apart and found seven swollen capacitors on the this board, they fail prematurely and seem to be the only thing wrong with the unit. I replaced them and now it is working just fine.

six 470uf 25v electrolytic capacitors and one 220uf 25v Capacitor.

you should not attempt to repair this yourself unless you have some electronics training since there is a shock hazzard involved and also these capacitors will blow apart if they are installed incorrectly (very messy experience).

MAG innovision 900w 19" LCD flat panel

Hi..there,
Well, you need replaced a new backlight inverter. if you got a AC Adapter with this monitor. The backlight inverter it to your left a small rectangle piece. Monitor without AC Adapter, the inverter it to your right... it's a large piece of power supply w/ buit-in inverter. OK! Wanna repaired it yourself...
First of all, inspecting the inverter closely...if you're lucky you can see a over-heated capicators with a bulged caps on top. Those caps need to be replaced. if you're not sure....just replaced all the caps.
Good lucks! Have a nice day!

Hi..there,
The lamps has nothing to do with it... what you need a new backlight inverter or repaired it by replaced a couples of bad capacitors... Sound easy... right! Not so... It's not always the caps problems.

Picture goes black on Mag Innovision LT765b

I used to repair LCD monitor from Dell. It works for me. You might be using these following steps to examine what wrong with your monitor. After you turned PC on and monitor stopped working or went black, you have to check that if you can see the image on the screen or not by shining a flashlight into the screen, not directly but find the best angle to the screen and take a look very closely. If you can see the icons or any image (Start menu), there will be a minor problem. This is because of CCFL lamps inside screen. Some of them were broken and it is very easy to replace. If you cannot see anything on the screen, there'll be some problems with inverter board. If you have soldering tool and want to fix it by yourself, check the caps first. It may cause this problem. Some caps might show leaking or burn spot on the board because of too high temp. If you don't have soldering tool, you better go get a technician to do so. Hope this help!! If anything I can help you with, feel free to let me know.
Thank you.
