Problem with E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC

I have an emachine desktop pc with vista OS and since windows update added sp2, it won't boot up

it's my daughter's computer and I'm not sure of the model number, but can get it. She had said it wouldn't come on at all but it did, connected to internet and was working, then windows update popped up with the updates and I clicked ok to install sp2, afterward it started to reboot but wouldn't finish. Any suggestions?

I would recommend a reinstall with the disc that came with the system to get a fresh install of the os. Caution: you may lose all files in doing this

Testimonial: "only thing, she doesnt have the disc, I have asked around and can't find one to borrow.."

    • You have to buy an new copy of the OS or buy a better computer because emachines sucks.

    • Try starting in safe mode and doing a system restore, shouldn't need to borrow a disk, should have a restore partition. But before completely restore to factory, just do a restore to back before you did the install.
