Thanks for the advice kevin, but i forgot to tell you that my t.v. model# WAS 19A20, an older t.v. model. Sorry about that. would the answer still apply to this model t.v.? Thanks again.

Thanks a million Kevin once again kevin,i was going crazy trying to figure out what the problem was. I thought it was some electrical interference in the room that was causing it. Thank You!!!

I have the same problem, but the remote no longer works at all on a Toshiba 32" ? TV. Remote: CT9952 The Tv worked fine manually, until the channels were reprogrammed recently. Now we cannot get Channel 3 without the remote- which does not work..... Any ideas? I'd prefer not to get another tv. Where would I look for an add on port- for the previously mentioned sensor?

Or is there another way to change the TV to channel 3? It skips by Channel 2 and 3 when using the channel buttons on the TV.

Its the IR sensor. You could go the DIY router and solder a new one back on, or buy an add on one if your set accepts it.

You could do the re soldering to any age tv, though i must warn you, as i forgot, always make sure NOT to use a coldheat soldering iron if you do! they put out raw voltage, and can kill the tv. The addon IR can only work for some TVs that have the ports for it. Also, Try cleaning the copper contacts leading to the IR sensor with an eraser and see if it works better.

How come remote hardly ever works?

Note: Instructions below assume that you are having the same problem will _all_ functions of the remote. If you are having problems only with certain specific buttons, then the problem is wear, and there's not much you can do about it, other than pressing down harder and holding until the TV responds. // Instructions for _all_ button functions: Using "Window Cleaner," clean the lens on the TV (usually a translucent reddish color rectangular shape in front of the TV), and _gently_ clean the red diode in front of the remote. Then make sure you have _fresh_ alkaline batteries (not "heavy duty") in the remote. Eliminating those three issues usually takes care of sluggish remote response.

TV not responding to remotes

I ASSUME IT'S JUST THE REMOTE YOU'RE SPEAKING OF- FIRST, IF YOU HAVE A DIGITAL CAMERA, OR CAMERA PHONE, AIM IT AT THE INFRA-RED LED'S ON THE FRONT OF THE REMOTE, AND PRESS BUTTONS [LIKE POWER OR CHANNEL] - THE CCD'S USED IN DIGITAL CAMERAS ARE VERY SENSITIVE TO IR, AND YOU SHOULD SEE A WHITE LIGHT [IMAGE] OF THE LED'S, EITHER STEADY, MOMENTARALLY, OR PULSING. IF THE REMOTE HAS BEEN DROPPED, THERE IS A CCHANCE THE CRYSTAL CONTROLLING THE FREQUENCY HAS BEEN DAMAGED. TRY A UNIVERSAL REMOTE, ALTHOUGH OFTEN YOU MAY LOOSE SOME FUNCTIONS, OR THE BUTTONS REACT DIFFERENTLY THAN LABELED. SELDOMLY, BUT IT DOES HAPPEN, THE IR RECEIVER SECTION OF THE SET ITSELF CAN FAIL. THE IR RECEIVER [LOOKS LIKE A DARK LED] CAN FAIL, AND THEY'RE COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE AT RADIO SHACK

Television response.

Try to locate the line of sight sensor on your TV that does not respond to the remote. The lack of response indicates that the sensor on the TV needs to be cleaned. It does not take much (dust, wax, cleaner residue) to block the signal.

Sony KV-27FS100 does not respond to remote

Good day.

Maybe there are loose connections along the IC that supports the operation of your remote. This could also hamper initial set up operation of your unit. Also, check on loose connections along the power supply.

No response

This sort of fault with a remote is usually due to a build up of muck on the contacts inside under the keys,
Open the remote and lift off the rubber key pad and clean the carbon contacts gently with isopropyl alcohol.
once reassembled you should no longer have trouble.
P.S. replace the batteries too!

No response from remote

Remote problem could arise from either tv or remote. First check your universal remote on some other tv and if it is okay your tv's infrared sensor has stopped working. You can get it from the local component shops, take the existing sensor with you. This problem could be from the micro processor in rare cases. Best of luck.

Volume pegs to max. Turns itself on. Goes to menu. Intermittent

This is becoz your Internal Remote control response program chip needs to be replaced! You need it to get repaired at nearest service station. Or it may be due to Your keys pressed continously from remote control. Check both the causes! then decide. It will help you!

No response from remote

Check whether the remote control is working properly or not by using remote checker. Even if it is the universal remote control you have to set the code for the particular model. Otherwise it will not work.
