Ran out of ink fitted new cartridge still showing no ink fitted another cartridge still same any clues

If you are using non-original or refilled cartridges, it is common for printers to not acknowledge the ink levels. On most, you have to acknowledge that you are using non-original or used cartridges and then override the ink level sensors. After that, most printers will work. You just won't see ink level monitoring.

It sounds like the printer thinks it is not a genuine ink cartridge. Fit a Lexmark cartridge to cure it.

Ink cartridge must to be fitted only after removing all seals which cover different parts of the cartridge.

The cartridge has to be fitted correctly in the right place.

F4235 cartridge will not fit in slot

Hello.

Be certain that you are using the HP 60 (CD947FN) Black/Tricolor Ink Cartridge.

If you have the correct cartridge, it should fit and just snap into place.

Hope this helps.

I can't get the ink to fit into the slots.

If you have purchased the printer with the ink cartridge then insert the ink cartridges with the GOLD(contacts) facing towards the printer. If you are replacing the ink cartridges, then you must make sure that cartridge numbers are the same as the empty ones.

GOOD LUCK

Ink cartidges

Without knowing where your "compatible " cartridges came from, it's difficult to say. The correct cartridge types for a 1290 are T007 and T009. Do your cartridges with lugs show these numbers? In general, compatible cartridges will fit into the cartridge carrier without problem. Yes, Epson did fit plastic key lugs to their cartridges to artificially make cartridge A different to cartridge B, when in reality they were identical e.g. C46 and C48. Now, compatible cartridges for your printer are incredibly cheap on E-Bay. My advice is just to throw away the troublesome luggy ones you have and buy some more on E-Bay - they will fit without trouble.
