Re: laptop is not conecting on line
Was it being used in the same home with the same ISP?
If not, you might have to install the new ISP's software or at least change the dialed number.
You should be able to ask your sister which service (ISP) she was using and ask her to give you her logon info (password and screen name) to try from your location.
She can always make a change to her password afterward to keep you from reading her juicy emails <grin>
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

One problem with downgrading operating systems is the risk of components not having drivers for the new os. You might be able to check online to see if XP will run the drivers for your machine before trying it.
This happened to my sisters cavalier about a year ago. What you want to do is on the + side of the battery follow the red wire lead it should split in to 2 different wires a big wire and a small wire. The big wire should go down to starter and the small wire runs to a fuze box on the drivers side fender well behind the battery. Where the small wire conects to the fuzebox check that conection. On my sisters car it was broken there and would not allow power to get to the PCM, ECM and nothing worked. I hope this helps you out. If you have any questions let me no. goodluck, kyle
NEW LAPTOP? Noticed a lot of post for same Laptop as same time.
If try to use wireless - you need to set-up wireless part of router and wireless part of laptop (Wireless Software).
Setup your network same it is on the PC.
Use Network setup wizard, if not know how in system manager, in the control panel.
Network Name is same on both, MYHOUSE is good.
The only thing different should be NAME, like SYS02,
PC would be SYS01, and IPaddress ( first 3 sections same as PC - Last section is indivual system - example follows:
PC = 192.168.1.40 then LT = 192.168.1.41
Suggest you hard wire laptop to router to verify network connection then work on wireless connection setup after you get connected thru hard line.
Check the security settings manually in the wireless conection manger, when you search for wireless networks down bottem left has addvanced options, in here try a few differnt settings and it may sort your problem, i know its been wokring all along but could have chaned some thing there where it shouldnt have automatically. hope this helps in some way.
aoso make sure in network conections , and the wireless conection that the tcp ip settings are all automatic.
Yep if you have bought an OEM or personal license you can only install the software for one PC.
You will need a volume license (the least you can get is normally 5) to legally install or just buy another license on-line for the laptop. You will be able to use the same CD to install the software just need to buy the serial number.
Check out what you have HERE Buy an new licence key HERE download just the key and save £20 you dont need that backup CD.
