I got the same problem with my HT-TQ72. The system shuts down itself in a couple minutes. Even for the radio system, it has the same problem.

The cooling fan cuts out and the system shuts itself down to protect it from overheating.

JVC TH-505 when the fan kicks on it trips the subwoofer and kills the sound. I have to unplug the lead wire with the 8 prung sound returns but as soon as the fan kick in it kills the sound.

Samsung theater system shuts down every 20min. It seems to overheat or something like that.I open my SAMSUNG HT-X70 5.1 Ch. Home Theater System and checked if anything is burn out. Everything seems to be okay. However, the fan sometimes dose not turn on, which need to mess around the fan so it could start spinning. Eventhough the fan is on it still shuts down. I need help please someone!!!!

Samsung is one of the worst brand ever at least for me, I bought this HT-TX72 and it was shutting down every 10 mins, i send it to the service center in New Jersy, they fixed it, and i was told it is known issue with fan, it worked for few months after the sevice and now i am having the same issue.

I have the same samsung HT-TX72 system that as of today (04/07/09) is working fine for 15-20 minutes and shut down... seems to me that it shouldn't be doing that only after a year of ownership and minimal use.

I've had my HT-x70 for about a year, and it just started smoking from the power adapter and turned off.

I have the same problem as listed here....turn the unit on and in 10-15 minutes it shuts off. The fan doesn't seem to be working. Anyone have any luck resolving this issue? I see a lot of people with problems, but no long term fix. Maybe there isn't one.....Disappointing because I like the unit, but to have this problem with minimal use....thank god it wasn't expensive.

I have the same problem, i've eventually resorted to putting a box fan next to it and taking the cover off....kinda ridiculous but beats buying another unit and this point

Hello my Samsung HT-x70 plays for about 20 minutes and then shuts off. Please help

First check in back that the fan is running. Second: Remove cover and check for bad capacitors in the back right corner. The ones in my system were blue. one had totally dissolved. I replaced the capacitor ad the system worked fine, Then found the fan was not running so replaced that too. It does take some soldering to repace the capacitor.

Bought a samsung dvd home theater system HT-X70 off of ebay and its plays beaytifully for like 10 minutes into the movie and then all the sudden it flashes "PROTECTION" and then shuts off. I unplud it and...

Sounds like a heat problem, look on the back of the player and see if the fan is full of debris ( dust, pet hair, ect.) blow it out and see if that helps.

I have a samsung home theater system HT-X70. After 10 to 15 minutes the word protection scrolls across the screen then goodbye and finally the unit shuts itself off.

ther is dc voltage applying your speakers by amplifire itself and turn on speaker protection circuit itself.
it can be happens because
1.loose connection in amplifire board
2.faulty output section of amplifire
3.short circuit of speakers
4.error detecting circuit faulty.
if youcan open the cover and clean the circuit for dust and resolder the circuit with 30 W soldering iron cairfully.if you want the more asistence please come again
ican hlp you more.
