Question about Televison & Video

We have a pioneer flat screen HD and as of yesterday the only color seen is Green (which is is the dominant color) and blue. Everyones faces is green. Is this simple problem? Would you recommend we get it fixed or just get a new one. This was a $5000.00 TV so I really hope it can be fixed. We purchased it from Best Buy about 41/2 yrs ago. Thank You, Heather

Try a hard reset first - unplug the TV from power source and remove any cables from TV. Wait about an hour or two and redo all cable and plug into power.

Should that not work, the red module has most likely gone kaput. It will have to be replaced. It is a good idea to replace the blue and green ones as well, as generally all three are replaced at the same time. I wouldn't recommend you opening the set and tinkering around if you have no TV repair experience. You will only make things worse if you do not know your way around...There are voltages inside that can KILL even with the power off.

This is an expensive set and not very old. It is worth getting it repaired. Shop around for various prices, or try the Repair Service box on the right of this window. Enter your Zip code and that will throw up a number of repair centers in your area. Just mention you were referred by Fixya, and you may just get a discount :)

Hope that helps! Please don’t forget to "Accept" the solution if it helped you in any way, or leads you to a fix.

Thank you for using FixYa!

Well it could be one of two things, you could have a tube gone out , that would be the red one,,Because tvs are made up of three colors, red ,green, blue,, another thing you could try is ,, check the menu it could be under settings,, its called conversion,, it realines the colors,,a lot of projection tvs have it,,your soposed to do it every now and then ,,or when you move the tv,, but if not , i think its still worth takin it to a tv shop,, because it still works,,fixin it ,,cheaper than a new one ,, well good luck,, let me know if i can be of any assistance,,thanks

The screen turns green after playing videos for 20 minures

The Video Controller works off of the RGB principal. RED/Green/Blue pixels. The mix color is dependent on the formation and density of the pixel and rates. When one or more colors are absent the only functioning color will dominate, and it is Green in your case. The screen liquid crystals in Red and Blue are failing and only a screen replacement will fix the situation.

Rca d52120 need more green and red color

sounds like the Blue CRT drive has an issue which causes the blue to become dominate thereby limiting the red and Green CRTs from projecting normally. Is your screen full of blue?

Its glittery white because i briten the color but when darken it gets green

you must re-adjust in the RGB (Red-Green-Blue) setting. depending on the brand of your TV, because there are set manually from the TV (you must open the cover of the rear of the TV). and there is a set directly from the remote only, with the open "factory settings", then you can re-adjust RGB color, especially green, not too dominant with the other colors (RED-BLUE). how to set is that you need to neutralize the color, (color TV sets to zero level) so that the image becomes black and white. if the green is too dominant, then Decrease the level of Green Bias or Green Cut off/ G-drive.

46 toshiba plasma has red tint in back ground

If you can see the red tint with every input source and also in the On-Screen Menu, then this indicates that the Green phosphor is burning off of the screen faster than the Red and Blue. This is typical of plasma screens. Even if you dont watch a lot of golf or football, green is the most dominent color and burns out of the phosphur pits(pixels) faster than the Red and Blue. Take away green, you are left with Reddish looking screen and Pink whites. This is not repairable.
If the Menu looks nice and white, check your source cables.
Good luck

Dominant blue

Can you post to the party who has too much green how to adjust the video adjustments? They need to know so they can see if
its just a simple adjustment.
In your case, first turn the color level clear down to where you
have a black and white picture. As in the case of too much green,
question is if the picture is black and white or if there is a color
on the screen so its blue and white? I suspect it will be which
is typical when the guns start to fail. Likely the green and red
guns are weak in output. There are screen adjustments in the set that a tech can set up that may help some, but the only real fix is to replace the guns which is expensive and requires a complete allignment. All 3 guns need changing to get it back to spec and it is a good idea to replace the flyback for reliability. Get an estimate and likely you can replace the set for the same money.

Color problem

Did you try alignment of color convergence in setting up. Try this
1 Press MENU
2 Select SET UP
3 Select CONVERGENCE
4 Select screen mode ZOOM this accesses the center convergence adjustment.Press set/enter
5 Use arrow keys to aline the red cross to the white cross.Press set/enter
6 Use arrow keys to alingn the blue line in the same manner. Once adjustment is complete press MENU to turn the menu off.
I hope this helps if you cant move the red or blue lines you face the same problem I face. I still havent gotton any solutions to my post about being unable to adjust the red line. You could also call Pioneer's help line 800-421-1404.
