How can I open the page

Locate your router. There should be a label which displays your default gateway. The Default gateway displays a number. It should show a number like
  • 192.168.0.1
  • 192.168.1.1
  • 10.0.0.1
Open your browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, ETC..) Type the default gateway number into the search engine text box on top of the screen press enter or return (mac). The page should now show user name and password. Locate the router and locate the default credentials. For example. most routers requires the user name to be blank and the password is password. Routers very.

About obtaining an IP address. Routers are usually set to option the IP address automatically unless you manually set a static IP address which is not recommended.

My gateway wireless adaptor is not working I cannot get onto internet

FGo to hardware.devices and check for a yellow mark next to any device and in particular your Network Devices. Open the submenus. all of them one at a time and there will be one screen that will show the status. If if states working properly, then that isn't your problem. You still may update the driver from the mfr's site, write down the software version number and date along with the mfr and model number and any description to locate the proper driver. The software version and date should be newer than the one you currently have to install it using a CAT 5 (RJ45) cable connection into your modem. (All wireless modems have at least one CAT 5 (RJ45) port on them to use a cable into your PC.

Try installing the latest wireless driver. Once the driver is installed it will automatically switch on unless it was disabled in the BIOS setting.

Wireless network adapter keeps disconnecting from router upstairs

Hi
Adaptor has nothing to do with signal strength.
Its the router .
Steps
1. Start -> Run -> CMD -> Ipconfig
( You"ll see default gateway which will be something like ex : 192.168.2.1 )
It is router specific
2. Type that default gateway (only the numbers )
in your brouser tab or run .
3. This will open up your router setup page
4. On the left hand side under wireless you"ll see channell and ssid . Change channell to 11 or 6 click save and then reconnect to your network on the wireless computer.
5. Also i would advice you to update the firmware on the router as it has become old so there may be some discrepency.
6. Dont keep any wireless devices near the router as it will interfere with the wireless signals .
This will certainly help
And let me know if the problem is solved .

Wireless network adaptor

You can get your WEP Key or WEP Encyption Key on your Wireless Router's Configuration Page.

Open your Web Browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox or Safari, type the IP Address of your Router on the Address Bar (e.g. 192.168.0.1) log in to your router and check the wireless settings and look for your network key.

If you dont know the IP Address of your router, try checking it on the command prompt.

Click Start, then click on run, on the run windows type in cmd for command, a black screen will pop up, in the blinking cursor type in ipconfig for Internet Protocol Configure it will show you the IP Address of your computer and the router's IP Address which is the Default Gateway

Hope this helps

Install prob

I suspect these devices by default may be set to either the same IP address or exist on the same subnet. If you know how to configure the devices you can check. Possibly you can connect a computer to each (when not router and modem are not connected to each other) and issue use the open the DOS or command prompt type ipconfig and press enter to get the default gateway address for each device and report the contents back here. Otherwise you may need someone to lead you through those checks and reconfigure the devices as appropriate.

As a new owner of a wireless router you may also want to consider this as you are installing it.
