You should see some plastic plugs or holes for mounting bolts on the opposite side of the freezer case. The latch mechanism should adapt from one side to another.
You would remove the top hinge and then lift the door off of the bottom hinge. Then you would remove the bottom hinge and switch it to the other side. Place the door onto the bottom hinge and then install the top hinge on the other corner of the case to match.
You should be able to move the handle from one side to the other. The magnets in the doorseal should work as before to keep the door closed. The interior light is usually centered on the bottom to aid in reversing the door opening.

if it can be turned off it will be in the kickplate but the alarm will go off when it gets back down to temp

It sounds like the unit is low on freon or the compressor is going bad. You have several other components that could be affecting this as well. Make sure the coils are free from dust and clean underneath. This is a bit premature for you to have problems now, especially since it is a Sears product.

Fordexpert is correct about switching the door from a right hand door (you grab the handle located on the left side with your right hand to open it, making it a right hand door) to a left hand door. The only thing I could add is when you have completed the switch you may find that the seal on the right side of the door may not make contact with the frame. If this happens all you have to do is use a hair dryer on the gasket to lightly heat it up to make it more supple, then pull it out to make it look thicker and hold it there until it cools down and holds that position. You may have to do it a few times over a few days before it stays that way. When it's all done the best way to test the seal all the way around is to close the door on a strip of paper and pull it lightly to see if the seal is grabbing it. You need to be sure the seal is perfect all the way around or you'll end up with frost build-up close to the gap and the freezer will run more often than it should. Good luck
