you can try a soft reset on ipod by holding the menu and center button at the same time for 10-15 seconds and/or reset your radio by taking face off of it and pushing the reset button on the stereo too.

The deh p6050ub does not play DVD's. You can add on a DVD player and control it thru the Pioneer. The Link above is for the owners manual. Page 59 describes the use of a DVD player. If the link does not work, do a search on the web " Pioneer deh p6050ub"
for the manual.

Hello... I am sorry to hear you are having problems. In the many years I have been doing car audio, it seems that factory units are getting cheaper and cheaper. By far the least impressive units I have seen have been the indash 6 disc changers the factorys are installing. They are VERY sensitive and it doesnt take much to get them out of whack. It even states on the top of most of the units that is you drop it, you are to throw it away. That is just ridiculous. You have 2 options here. First one is to take it to a repair facility and have it serviced. It seems to be getting harder and harder to find service centers for factory radios because aftermarket headunits are really cheap and 10 times better in overall quality and features. Your second option, and the one I recommend, is to just replace the unit with an aftermarket one. You can retain the Monsoon system with the new headunit and you can get capability for direct USB and AUX inputs for todays smart phones and other digital devices. You will need a dash kit, wiring harness adapter, and an antenna adapter to install a new headunit into this vehicle, but it will be well worth the investment. You can get a good cd player for about $89 or so that will be a name brand like Kenwood or JVC. The price will go up from there depending on what additional features you would like to have, such as remote control, ipod control, droid control, bluetooth, etc. Hope this helps and good luck with your venture!

On my pioneer DEH-50UB the error message 'ERROR 19' is constantly appearing, this is addressed in the mannual however it merley advices you to restart the unit. obviously this is not satisfactory when it...

Hi,

To my knowledge, ERROR 19 on a Pioneer DEH series indicates failure on the USB connection. This is usually reserve for an iPod direct connection. If you are using such a device, pls:
  • check the Pioneer CD-IU50 USB Interface Cable;
  • reset the iPod;
  • disconnect the iPod and try again;
  • reset the Pioneer by removing the yellow and red connections. Pls note that some versions would require a security code when reconnected. Pls have this ready if and when your particular unit has a security/anti-theft feature;
  • reference page 32 of the manual.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

error 19 is a communication error code with the ipod itself so either the cable is bad or the connectiontion on the ipod or deck is bad or the ipod itself may have a bad rom for external use. this info comes straight from the tech support manual for Pioneer that we car audio techs use (even if you call pioneer they will tell you mthe same thing).

try this :

Disconnect the cable from iPod.
Once iPod main menu is displayed, connect the cable again.
Reset the iPod.
