Try removing the HD, then boot. If this doesnt work, then try the RAM, wireless card, and any other device. If this doesnt work, then it is something to do with the motherboard or LCD monitor.

Hook the lapto up to a VGA monitor. If it shows video then your LCD screen is toast, or one of the connections. If no video comes out at all, then your mobo is probably gone and you need to replace it.

Note: I also know that hp has done a recall with laptops that are having video problems, you might want to check to see if yours falls under this repair/recall.

My pc is not booting

Hi eric,
Try connecting your laptop to a different monitor to see if it works properly. If it does, then there is most likely a problem with the laptop display assembly. If the external monitor does not work, then the problem may lie with the laptop's video card.

If you power on the computer and the display is black, make sure the computer is booting up. You can do so by checking the LED lights, listening to the fan, and/or listening for the Windows boot up sound. If either of these are functioning properly, your screen may not be working properly. You may take a look at ourToshiba Satellite LCD installation guide to help you replace the screen.Hope this solves your problem please rate my solution if it helped you.

Note:-Make sure that you are careful while working with the screen or Motherboard as there may be chances of shock if you are a novice i recommend to get it serviced by a professional.

Regards,
bonefirediv.

I turn on my laptop it display green light that its booting but not displaying anything, later on the green light stop but the fan is still working, the system still on. please help me out with it.

I think that the first thing you should check is the display itself. Connect the laptop to an external monitor to see if you get video output.
Also, be sure you haven't accidentally turned the video off using the Fn plus special function key combo that switches displays between the laptop and external.

My lap top screen won't turn on

Please follow the diagnosis outlined in this article to check whether the backlight lamp or the inverter board are the root cause of the problem or not:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r6430776-troubleshooting_laptop_power_failures

If you connect the external monitor & nothing is displayed on it, then this means that both the backlight lamp & the inverter board are fine. The main indicators in these cases are the sound, and the hard drive LED on the laptop's case. If the laptop sounds just like it always does for a minute or two after being turned on, it means it's going ahead and booting the operating system, but the video processor or part of the motherboard circuit for video output has failed. If the laptop just sits there and beeps when you turn it on, or if you hear the fan but not the hard drive chuckling with its active LED flashing away, it means the laptop isn't getting as far as trying to boot the operating system. While this could be due to any number of hardware problems, the most common and easiest to troubleshoot or repair is RAM failure. If your laptop has two RAM modules installed, try booting with just one and then the other in the primary slot. If your laptop only has one RAM module, you might consider buying one online from a site with a good memory selector, like Crucial.com

I have a Fujitsu Lifebook LBS6120 notebook

Turn on as you did before and leave on for 10 minutes. Then, try turning OFF the computer by keeoing the POWER button pressed for 7 secons. If the computer goes off, then your screen is fried and the computer is actually booting up normally... you just can't see it ;)

Dell Inspiron 9400 display goes blank after a few minutes

If the issue occurs in the safe mode, then I'm suspecting a failure of the LCD backlight. (It warms up and quits) Also see if video stays on using an external monitor. If it does, then the LCD is most likely failing.

If video goes out on an external monitor as well, then the Video card is failing due to overheating. Make sure all vents are free of dust (Clean with canned compressed air) and the all fans are functional (Run the fan test in diagnostics) If fans check up, then video card is failure point. If fans fail diags, replace affected fan 1st

Laptop getting unusually hot in operation

Re: "the FAN runs only when the booting is being done.but it stops as soon as the booting is completed".

That would be normal, as the variable speed fan comes on only when the computer is under load.

What is not normal is that the fan is not coming on when the computer overheats.Or that the fan is not cooling enough when computer is overheating.

Monitor computer temperature using a software, check if Fan is coming up when temperature gets critical.

If fan comes up but does not cool enough, then replace the fan, it is not efficient anymore because of a bad bearing or dust. ~Also ensure that fan is well mounted, if fan has poor contact with CPU surface , cooling will be poor.

If fan does not come up, and critical temp is not detected, then the sensor on motherboard is bad, this is very uncommon.

If fan does not come up and temp is critical, then fan is faulty, replace it.

There are also more than one fan on many laptops, check that one of the fans (CPU fan, video fan) is not completely ded, and therefore cause for the problem.

Here is the software to control your fan and temp state:

Download SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

Download SpeedFan 4.38

If your computer no boot, respond to a motherboard failure, (video, memory, hard drive) - Try to boot with a boot CD and see what happen.
