Hewlett Packard EliteBook 2530p Memory Upgrade

I am trying to add a memory module to my HP 2530P. After I install the module the computer will not boot. The caps lock and number lock lights flash. Once the module is removed the computer boots fine. The same module works correctly in a HP 6930p. The module is as follows: HP part number 463409-644 2GB 2RX8 PC2-64006-666-13-E1.

The memory module was bad. The HP 2530p found the fault right way. It took the HP 6930p a few boot cycles to find the error. Once the 6930p found the error it started flashing caps lock and number lock as well.
Caps lock and number lock lights flashing at boot = memory test fail

The 666 in the part number indicates a 666 MHz memory stick. In the spec of the HP 2530 P, it needs DDR2 800 Mhz memory. Possible that the memory is not compatible.

SOURCE: windows xp will not start on my packard bell i media

press F8 very after it start (just in starting mode) you will get the options for booting. Select SAFE MODE and check it will start in that. Once it is started then it will work on normal mode. If problem persists then you have to restore the windows with Window CD/DVD. If you don't want to install a fresh copy just recover the previous one.

best of luck!

My hp 2530p locks up when i try to use video on firefox - You tube, BBC sport website and any others. Its done this since i recieved it brand new, any ideas?

Hi there,

What Web browser are you using? (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox etc.)

If you are using Internet Explorer of Firefox you may want to try to uninstall and reinstall your Adobe Flashplayer.

On your keyboard hold down the windows logo and then press R.

Once the run box comes up type in appwiz.cpl

Uninstall Flashplayer

Go to www.adobe.com and then download the latest version of Flash player (make sure you choose the version for your browser and operating system)

Hope this helps!

Hi mr hp i have a hp elitebook 2530p when i removed the battery i noticed i have a sim slot when i looked closer can even see the gold sim contacts. Yet i slot my sim in and get no response. In device...

The easiest way to determine if the 2420 module is installed is to open the mobile broadband module trapdoor on the underside of the notebook. This is the small door near the battery bay, you should see a wireless icon on the door with an arrow pointing to the single screw that secures the trapdoor. If there is no 3G module installed the slot will be empty and you will find two antenna connectors taped down. There is an upgrade kit available for EliteBooks if you are interested in adding this feature.

Please note, there is a larger access panel with both a wireless and memory icon (thisis the wifi card.)

HP Elitebook 2530p power lights stays on after

are you switching off, or just closing the lid? On most laptops, closing the lid just hibernates and constantly uses power, it can be changed in the control panel power options.

I can't enter to bios, becouse of wrong password. please helP!

Here is the service manual for your laptop. The Cmos and password procedures are on Page 42. Basically, power down, remove the laptop battery, then remove the cmos battery, wait 10-15 minutes and replace the batteries. The cmos at this time will be reset. Make sure to enter the bios after this and reset your time and date.
