Fortunately I've found the instructions. However for anyone needing to know how to set the time of day - here goes - along the top above the display there are 3 tiny recessed buttons marked day, hour, min. Using a pencil or other pointed implement press these buttons to set.

I have an Alba 32880hdf freeview tv. I cannot record freeview programmes to my panasonic NV-FJ 780 vcr which has 2 scart sockets. I have no problem recording the teresteral channels. Can you help pls

Hi Victor,

You can't record the Freeview channels from the TV. It doesn't work that way. The reason you can still record terrestrial channels is because the VCR is still connected to your roof aerial with a co-axial cable and the VCR has its own built-in analogue tuner for recording terrestrial TV programmes.

To record the digital Freeview channels, you will either need to connect a separate Freeview set-top box to the VCR, or buy a VCR which has a built-in digital (DVB-T) tuner.

The VCR does not record programmes from the TV. It needs to be connected directly to the signal source, i.e. your aerial.

If you need any further assistance, please let me know.

DVD'S will not play..

Sounds like the unit is bad, or set to the wrong Regional Code. Its not easy to set the regional code and it varies by model. You are better off buying a new DVD player given they can be found for under $30.

I dont know how to hook up my rca receiver to my dvd player and my tv and vcr so i can have it all running i dont know what wires go where

first check your receiver if it has inputs for all those gadgets you wanted connected. in your input function selector see if there are options for your dvd, tv, vcr. if it does have all those inputs then just connect all the audio output left/right rca jacks of your gadgets to each input function of your receiver. your VCR though is different, you have to connect the receiver input to vcr output. the vcr record goes to the vcr input connections. your TV, if it has got any audio out then connect to the audio in function of your receiver.

Trying to programme an all in one remote

I just found the answer after I posted as another user with this same problem. After much searching, I've found the code 0741. I've not testing all the functionality, but I can at least change the channel now. This is the One-For-All URC-4220 remote with Insignia dvd/vcr combo unit. Hope this helps!
