I recently install window XP. I dont have sound

You will need to install the proper driver for your system. since you have not mentioned the make/model it is important to either install from your back the audio drivers after installation of the Windows Xp. If you do not have them , then you must search for the drivers which are compatible with your motherboard. normally these are all free downloads and you can search for them on net. Download and install. Your sound should be back to normal now. Hope this helps. Good day

Sound device problem

if you go to the start menu and right click my computer on the list at the bottom it says properties click thAt a window will open called system properties on the tab titled hardware at the top click that a window for the hardware will open and you are looking for device manager in the device manager you can update and mess with whatever you have installed on your computer. now look for sound video and game controllers on the left is a plus arrow click the + symbol and it will expand your devices look for anything titled with the words (audio driver) this should give you make and model information of your sound card and drivers from here you can use windows (by double clicking your selection) to troubleshoot and update that driver or what i would reccomend is write that information down and then google search the description for your sound card and driver i think a generic driver is called legacy audio driver or something like that. anyways hope this fix ya
best regards,
ryan

How do i transfer from tascam DA-30MK11 to computer

From my personal experience, and assuming that you want to do this purely in digital format in order to preserve quality, you need to connect an RCA cable from the digital (SP/DIF) output of the DAT machine to an SP/DIF input of a sound card installed into your computer. Please note that the sound card on your computer must have digital input capability. Also the Digital input (sometimes labeled ‘CD digital’) must be selected in your software as part of the recording controls. To do this, open Volume Control, click ‘Options’, select ‘Properties’ and then select ‘Recording’ (as ‘Playback’ is usually enabled as default), and select the ‘digital’ input. Then using a reasonably good a sound editor or other recording software, start recording keeping in mind that you should configure the software to accept whatever audio data format is used on the DAT tape (i.e. 16 bits, 44.1KHz, or 48 KHz etc) I’m my case the software usually displays a box with these parameters before starting to record. Hope This helps. Good luck!

About sound drivers in XP(service pack2)

Hi,

All drivers are hardware specific therefore it would be required to determine the brand and specific model number of the laptop. In some cases, there are multiple versions of the same model so might as well post this also.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
