Yeh thats what that is ,,you need the original remote,,anyway i no all thoses all in one remotes ****,, but not all of them,, walmart,,a memorex black and grey one ,,itll work anything on any tv,,goodluck

First try, using the remote, pushing the display button until the display is turned off (three to four depressions on the remote display botton. Second try, unplugging the tv for at least 2 minutes then plug the tv back in. This should reset the tv if you have lost the original remote with the display bottton.
if you can access the menu on your remote or the front of the set you can turn this function off. somewhere in the menu will be something called OSD( on screen display) and you can turn it off. sometimes the menu can be accessed by pushing the channel up and down buttons on the front of the set at the same time.
Press (on your regular remote for your satellite) the t.v. button, then press info, this worked for me and I tried everything. another viewer posted this solution and it worked great! this is not the original remote, it is the satellite remote.
The DISPLAY button on the remote will remove the on-screen display, so you either have to order the original remote or look for a universal remote with a "display" button and hope it works.
Your gonna need the original remote and press the display button. If the channel dosent go away theres a problem with the OSD(on screen display) IC, and is gonna need to be serviced by a pro. There are no serviceable parts inside these sets. Sorry I couldnt assist you more in this problem.
