The tail light is usually mounted from inside the vehicle. Remove the boot liner behind the tail light. Disconnect the bulb connectors. There should be three nuts holding the light fitting onto the bodywork. Remove these and the light should pull out. The rubber water seal might make it a little sticky to remove. Use a PLASTIC tool to GENTLY break the grip the seal has. It should then just lift out.
In my opinion, the BEST way is to get somebody else to do it for free!...LOL
However, that is not very likely to happen in this millenium, so I have provided the pictures below.
Also please note that there is a Mazda 6i and a Mazda 6s But there is no Mazda MX6 in 2005. There is, however, a Mazda MX5...so assuming this is what you meant, the pictures are for the MX5.
If you meant Masda 6i or Mazda 6s, these pictures are not even close because the 6-series requires removal of the front bumper to remove the head lights.
I had the same exact issue to happen just last week as well. Passenger side front sidemarker/ and right rear tail both out, as well as my dashboard lights. Replaced fuses and bulbs but nothing. Stange thing is Signal light still works,,and its the same bulb. Any answers would be appreciated. 1989 MBZ 300e
These are famous for the circuit boards in the tail lights going bad. If the tail lights are in bad condition, replace the whole tail light, if the lenses are good, then you can buy just the circuit boards. Any (Good) parts store should have them.
