Question about Panasonic Televison & Video

1 Answer

My Panasonic projector, Model #PT-L592U, Serial #SL7510277, was working fine for about 35 to 40 hours, when it it started separating the colors some. So now I have these vertical green and blue lines coming from the white, and a few of the other colors are doing the same thing. Is there anything I can do myself? I'm a poor college kid who got the projector for 160 bucks with a blub that only had 216 hours on it. don't really have money to take it to get repaired though.

thanks jomabug, but there is no option for conversion in my menu on this projector. In my other research on my issue I found out that the particular projector I have is notorious for the boards failing in it if the projector is used for too many consecutive hours and it over heats and does exactly what I did. I accidentally left a rockband menu screen running when I went and picked up and hung out with my girl. i left it on for probably close to 7 or 8 hours, needless to say within the next couple of times using it it started to seperate and that was that. So sad because rockband was so much fun on a 14 foot screen, I had just barely built a 6 foot projector stand with lots of shelves for all the receivers, xboxes and everything. its all useless without a projector now. The new boards to fix it are like $1400 which is way out of my budget. and doing all the work on it myself would be way over my head. I really appreciate you trying to help though jomabug.

Can't reset lamp timer after lamp replacement on Panasonic PT-AE40000

I have a Panasonic PT-AE4000U and could not reset the timer after replacing the bulb with a, non-Panasonic branded bulb. Calls to tech support were not very helpful. It was another bad customer service experience. Through troubleshooting it myself, I discovered the solution was simply to unplug EVERYTHING (serial cable, hdmi cables, etc.) from the device, power it off and back on. Follow the procedure in the manual, the timer immediately reset!!

Total Expected life (in hours) of a Panasonic DLP Projector

The projector lifetime has a lot to do with maintenance and environment. Over time, the LCD panels will start to deteriorate. I worked for a rental company where these units were in constant use. After 5 years, they were still going strong. Realize though, that these were highly maintained: constant cleaning via compressed nitrogen to remove dust, lens cleaning and filter changing on a regular basis. Checking for proper fan function and complete disassembly and checking for connections etc.

A word of caution: DO NOT work with the LCD block unless you have access to a clean area and have training. The tolerances here are very small. Slight changes can severely alter the picture quality and all adjustments should be left to a professional.

Hope this helps,
Dan

Panasonic PT-AE900U Projector Lamp stops working (intermittent)

since it has worked 1200 hours or even more since u have been resetting the counter! just change the lamp, resetting the counter does not make the lamp work or not work , it is only a reminder for the user to change the bulb when it should be & that u have some balance hours left to procure a new lamp!
if the brightness is adequate, then it is a ballast problem & not lamp problem!
buy a new lamp as u will anyway need to , fit it & it may solve ur problems permanently!
