Question about Computers & Internet
Try the following:
1. check the obvious first... is everything plugged in properly?? is the volume up on the speakers?? correct and test... if it did not work.. move to step 2.
2. on the system tray (where the clock is) click once on the speaker icon and check the speaker is nt muted and the volume is high enough for you to hear something... correct and check.. if it did not work.. move to step 3.
3. on the system tray again, right click the speaker icon and open volume control... check master volume and other volumes are up and not muted. correct and check ..if it did not work move to step 4
4. open device manager (start>run>type devmgmt.msc and press enter). check under sound and look for any ! signs next to a device... if you find any !... you have a issue with the driver on that sound device... (the driver makes your devices work with your computer and operating system).. if you do find a ! next to a device in device manager you have possible the following problems/options
a. reinstall the driver: right click on the item and select uninstall, wait for the uninstall to be completed then go to actios and select scan for hardware changes... if done properly your device will try to reinstall the driver by itself... check no ! are showing and test. if it doesnt work. try b.
b. do a windows update (manual update) and look for update drivers for your sound device... check, test and if it doesnt work try c.
c. check the hardware manufacturer of your sound device and look for an updated driver... download and update driver, by first uninstalling the device as explained in step a and then execute the update setup program or manually update the driver using the driver file your may have download from the website, check for no ! in device manager and test..
if you suspect there was a recent change on the system as the cause for your issue the easiest and shotgun approach is system restore: you can possibly try to do a system restore to go back to the configuration you had on your system at a previous date. to do this follow the steps:
