E01 Error on pioneer plasma Hey, I also had the same problem. had being the key Phrase! Here is what I did. First of all the receiver box that comes with your plasma TV is most likely the culprit. All this box does is convert a analogue signal to a digital signal ... That's it... well it also gives you the option of using multiple input connections. See pioneer does not even make this box anymore. so pretty much forget the box. you know the system cables that comes out of the box and plug into the bottom of the plasma. one of those cables are nothing more than a DVI-D cable. I have comcast as my cable provider. There DVR cable box that my cable company provides sends out a digital signal. (HDMI out) so this is what you do. go to your electronics store. and ask for a DVI-D female to a HDMI male converter. They are 19.99 maybe a few dollars either way. connect that to the DVI-D end of your system cable and plug it into the HDMI out on your cable box. and There you go ! See basically you have a 50 inch Plasma computer monitor. the old box was designed to convert a analogue signal to a digital signal which is the signal that your plasma needs to display an image. before to long everything is going to digital anyway....... I hope this works for you.. It worked for me! Ive read all the other threads and none of them worked. let me know what happens!!!! I wish someone told me about this!!!!! it took me a few months to figure it out!!!!!! Peace.

I have the same problem and thought I'd try a Scart to HSDI converter. The one I bought didn't work and the screen kept switching off as before.

However, has anybody has tried variety with success?

Mine did the same thing (E01 ERROR). While this adaptor helped, it is not a clean fix. Going from cable box HDMI out to the TV's DVI-D female connector will give you a picture, but 1/4 of the screen is blank/black. You cannot "stretch" screen on the cable remote either. Pioneer says to mail the media box to Long Beach, CA. There is a $500.00 (!!!) flat fee to repair the box!! Mine is on the way right now... Basically, the TV will not work correctly without the "brain" being perfect. This set cost me over 7 grand in 2003 so this is a bit hard to swallow.

Hi,
I've since found a solution to the E01 error as suggested by Alex.   Have a look at the bottom of this thread http://pioneerhdblog.com/?p=87.  Basically there is a relay near to the on/off switch which if you take off the top and force the connectors together (I put a piece of a match in mine to force the connections together) and as long as you're sensible and switch off media box when not using it, to ensure it doesn't overhead, you should be ok.

We fixed our 50 in. plasma screens e01 error.
I work in a electronic service shop, I had a tech take a look at the control box. we found several cold (poor) solder connections on the power supply and power switch. The tech resoldered the connections. The unit has now ran for 5 days and no problem since. before it may run 5 min. to 8 hours before dropping out. If you no somebody who does componet level repair they can most likely fix it.

Wish I knew, have one exact same trouble. Have checked all supply voltages which are correct. It appears that the screen and media Rx are not passing data after turn on, there are no transitions on any of the SDA SCL lines, all are in a high state +5V. There are transitions on them at boot up. I am using a Kworld KW-SA295-Q DE box, has a DVI-I output that provides a great picture on the monitor / screen. I believe the PC/IF board has the problem, but have not found one to substitute to test.
Also the receiver is not set to any of the default conditions.
The tuners are active but are not tuned to channel 2 the ICs not controlled by the data buss all pass signals. My thinking is that the control software has been corrupted. I found the training guide on line that has part of the procedure for upgrading the AVC System software but it is incomplete. If anyone has the info please post or send via E mail shalopt2 at juno dot com
or a known good PC/IF board that I can use for additional testing. There is no OSD as it is provided by the media RX PC/IF board.

Plasma e01 error

Hi. Had all the symptoms with my Pioneer 43" plasma with RO3E receiver that have been previously posted. I got so fed up with it turning itself off that i decided to take the top off the receiver and look for the dry solder joints on the power supply board that some have posted to have cured the problem. I removed the power supply board (which involved removing an interface unit which is mounted above it) and found no issues. I then proceeded to remove the switch board which is placed in front of the power supply board. When i removed the electrical connector which i found not to be fully inserted, i noticed that there was a brown burnt stain in the middle of the connector plug indicating a possible poor connection. I removed the electrical connector from the unit completely (the other end connects to the adjacent board with the fuse on it) and cleaned the connector plug with electrical cleaner and re-inserted it into the receiver and built everything back up. I am happy to report that the tv starts up first time every time and has not turned itself off since. I have included a picture of the offending plug in its built up state (it is the one with the row of black wires with one red wire). Do not attempt to do this unless you are suitably qualified.

Check that the system cables are properly plugged into the back of the plasma display and the media receiver. You may have knocked them whilst installing the DVD player.
