Epson model 1400 printer feeds multiple pages of paper at one time. Your suggested solution to fann the edges of the paper and reload comes from the printer's instruction manual to which we have already referred. This solution does not work for us. All five solutions sent through Professional paid assistance suggest the same solution which comes from the printer's instruction manual. Looking for another solution.

I have requested help on a feeding problem with my Epson 1400 printer. It feeds multiple pages about every other time it is used. Solutions suggested so far include flipping the corners of a stsck of papers to separate them which we have tried without luck as instructed by the owner's manual.

The second suggestion is that the paper may have acquired moisture. This too,is not a solution as we live in a semi-desert climate at 6000 foot elevation and it is extremely dry here. However, have already tested to ensure this is not the case.

Please continue with your proposed solutions. thanks

All you need to do is run the printer a few times with no paper. While it's "printing", use a soft cloth and your index finger to clean the rubber wheel that pulls the paper through. The wheel is on the right side in the area where you feed the paper. do it several times and check for possible improvement

okay well if that is the case you may want to consider getting the rollers replaced because there is a possibility that they are worn out or derailed from its position...

you can get OEM parts from Epson or from the store that carries epson hardwares.

HI THERE,
what is the exact printer model.?

for the moment try this few steps:

  1. Remove the photo paper from the photo tray.
  2. Place the photo paper in the photo tray.
NOTE: Do not overload the photo tray. Load less paper into the tray to avoid paper jams.
  3. Make sure the paper length guide fits snugly against the edge of the photo paper.

this can be due to improper functioning of rollers which pull in the paper.

Paper feed feeds more than 1 sheet at a time

Hello,

he problem you are having is caused by a worm separation pad assembly. This assembly is what separates the paper into individual sheets. It takes about 30 minutes to disassemble the printer and replace the part. Most printer repair shops will do the repair for you but the cost may be a bit much. If you are interested in doing the repair yourself we do stock the part. We can provide the separation assembly and a service manual on CD that gives directions for replacing the parts plus other information about the printer. The part and guide runs $14.95 plus shipping. Let me know if you need one, tech

Miss feeds when print multilpe pages

The paper feed solenoid is sticking, it can be seen thru a hole in the back with the door opened. Not easy to get to, but I have been able to bend the stop tab slightly and run just fine.

Paper feed

Have you tried a different brand of paper?. When choosing the paper try and select one which the sheets can slide easily over each other. I had loads of problems with multiple feeds and paper jams with a cheap paper. I then changed to a heavier 90gsm all in one paper from staples and have had no more problems since.(and i just chuck the paper in straight from the packet with no fanning etc)

Feeds multiple sheets of paper at once

This usually happens when "paper dust" builds up on the take in rollers. Clean the rollers with cotton and alcohol.

HP paper jam

That is usually caused by the paper feed rollers being cover with paper dust. Take a clean cotton pad and alcohol and clean the rollers :turninig each roller as you clean it. if it has a rear dor, open it to get better access to the rollers.

Printer keeps jamming paper

without some information about the kind of printer and the weight/thickness of the paper, try to supply more information in a comment if you can, this is a generic answer.
many printers have a paper thickness adjustment that helps ensure that only one sheet is picked up at a time, and that the sheet feeds accurately,
if two or more sheets are picked up there are jams as multiple sheets do not feed well, and may not even get out of the paper tray. If the printer is set for a thicker paper, the lead edge of thinner sheets may miss its aimed path and wrap around guides or rollers, jamming.
The makers web page, or the user guide if you still have it, often have FAQ on paper jams,

Feeds more than 1 sheet

Yes, I have had the same problem at times. The best solution is to 'fan' the paper well (put air between the sheets) BEFORE putting it in the tray. Also, tap down the front edge of paper (that enters the printer) to align the sheets better. You can also clean the rollers with a damp rag to help traction. Hope this helps!

You need new feed components. Feed rollers and retard rollers or pads that stop multisheet feeds.
