we have the same problem with an Epson 810 - have uninstalled, re-installed, with english ticked but all the pop-out boxes - ie print info, ink empty, how to re-fill ink etc comes up in Spanish - this is doubly annoying as the printer currently isn't recognising the ink cartridge and I can't understand what it's trying to tell me!

I have a CX6400 and I don't know if this helps but it's worth a try:
Press the setup button and the screen starts with #1 option. by pressing the top lit green button to the left of the screen, it will go through the remaining options with LANGUAGE as option #7 saying to press the color button. Press the color button, and the bottom right portion of the screen shows the language options, starting with English. By pressing the lower lit green button to the right of the screen it goes through the languages that you have to choose from. When you see the language you want displayed on the screen then you press a button under the screen that says OK. Hope this helps!

Change language from Spanish to English on printer

I hate to say it, but I don't think you can, as it states in the owner's manual of the c5500, "the menu indicators are given in english only" and "since the menu is likely to change based on destination or for other reason, it is not disclosed to the end user".

I'm thinking you may have a machine that was destined for a spanish speaking person or area.

The manual is available here:

Hi,
please refer to your printer user manual and there will be guidelines to change your device language to english. Because the way of changing language will be different for different printers and only your user manual can explain you accurately.
I hope this is helpful to you
