Question about Toshiba 27A44 27" TV

Open Question

Connecting a digital converter to my TV

Today I tried connecting a Phillips digital converter to my Toshiba TV. During the scanning process I waited several minutes, but the converter never picked up the local networks; ABC or NBC. It did pick up CBS and other channels, mostly Spanish. After waiting for a long time I finally disconnected the digital converter and hooked up back to the antenna. When I hook up to the antenna, I can get all the network channels. Why can't I pick up all the network channels with the digital converter connected?

SOURCE: connecting VCR to TV

If you have the original remote controller, try to switch inputs. It must be on the f-connection ( coaxial) at the moment. You need to switch it to RCA or S-Video Inputs.

SOURCE: Trouble with Channel setup

It is important for the TV to know what type of
signal-Cable TV (CATV) or a normal antenna
you are using. Choose your signal (Antenna or
Cable):
Press MENU to see the main menu.
Press CH+ or CH- to highlight Setup.
Press OK
to enter the Setup submenu.
TV/CATV is highlighted. Press VOL+ or
VOL-
to select TV or CATV.
Choose CATV if you have Cable TV
service. (See page 4 for connection
details.) If you do not have Cable TV
service and you connected an antenna
to the TV, choose TV. (See page 5 for
connection details.)
Press MENU repeatedly to exit the
menu or the menu will automatically
disappear within a few seconds if no
buttons are pressed on the remote
control.

And here is the manual if you need .

SOURCE: I've just hooked up my converter box. I can get most channels with decent reception. However, I can't get my NBC affiliate. I've been told that I need a new indoor directional antenna. What kind shoul

For an idea of the antenna type you need, look at tvfool.com and antennaweb.org. Antennaweb is very conservative in the channels it will list. At both sites, you can enter your address and they will list the channels that you can access and the direction to those signals (both actually assume an external antenna). Antennaweb is the better site for your needs - it lists stations by color. The color is the important factor of what antenna to chose (they will have that in the specifications for the antenna). The HD label is often a gimmick. In these days of digital tv stations, the signal is either on or off (all of the data sent will be received even by an SD TV). Since you use a converter box, you are getting SD out (unless you got one of the uncommon HD boxes which were not part of the government analog to digital conversion).

I hope this helps.

Can you connect a hd converter to a Toshiba cx 32 g60 tv

there isn't much point in connecting an hd converter the toshiba cx32g60. the tv can only support an sd signal (composite video or ntsc analog). however, many hd set-top boxes (dvd players, cable and satellite) have composite outputs. these can be connected to your tv. blu-ray videos can't be watched with this tv. (the hdcp (high definition copy protection) can't be sent through most converters.)

if you want to watch ota programming , the cheapest option would be to find an sd digital-to-analog converter. these were the ones sold when most stations switched to digital tuners. some are being sold off as people replace their old analog sets. there are some hd tuner boxes, like this one: http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?mc=03&p=3500stb&d=iview-hd-dvr-receiverconverter-box-for-tv-antenna-qam-%283500stb%29&c=digital%20converter%20boxes&sku= , that have composite video output which will connect to the cx32g60.

i hope this helps.

Most sound bars are connected from the TV via the audio output. Try connecting out from tv with Toslink or optical cable. This should operate all of your tv audio.

Connecting an Antena to a JVC 20220 how do i set up the tv to find channels?

Unless you are lucky enough to be close to one of the remaining low-power analog stations, you will need additional hardware to watch over-the-air programming with the AV-20220. You will need a digital to analog converter box. Connect the antenna to the converter box and then connect either the antenna output or the composite output to the appropriate input on the TV. If you use the RF input, set the TV to channel 3 or 4 and set the converter box to the same one.

Then to set the TV up to scan for any NTSC (analog) stations, you need to access the menu. There is a menu button on the remote. (I'm not sure about the AV-20220. Some of the later models (AV-27350) have a menu button on the TV as well.) Press Menu several times until you see Initial Setup (Setup). Use the up and down arrows (Volume) to navigate to Auto-Tuner Setup. Then use left and right arrows to choose Air. Use the up/down arrows to navigate to Start. Then press either the left or right button to start the scan for channels. Wait for the scan to end.

I hope this helps.

I have a Westinghouse 26 inch TV. Model # SK-26H590D. It will not scan channel 9. I have tried both the automatic scan and the find channel scan. It is hooked to a Phillips Mant 510 vhf/uhf indoor antenna...

I carried my Westinghouse TV to the basement. Unplugged the antenna from the digital converter box and connected it to my digital TV. I then re-scanned for channels and found channel 9. After carrying the Westinghouse TV back upstairs, I connected the original set-up and tuned to channel 9 which was now showing on the screen as no signal. From that point I moved my VHF dipoles until I had located the correct position for reception. A little labor intensive, but I was fortunate to have another antenna that was receiving channel 9.

Problems connecting phillips tv to panasonic sc-pt660 home theate

I just bought a sc-pt660, I have a philips tv too, the TV only available output is digital coax but the home theater only has digital optical input, you may buy a digital coax to optical converter like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-Coaxial-Optical-Converter/dp/B0002J2MV4/ref=pd_cp_e_3?pf_rd_p=413863501&pf_rd_s=center-41&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000I98ZQY&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1BS8MKCZ1CWQR071S8RN

Alternativelly you can also use the headphone output that is near the side input in the TV and buy an RCA adapter like this one from radioshack: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103225
