My garmin 350 when first turned on stays in the aquiring satalites mode for about 30 to 60 minutes. Then it asks if I am inside or if I have moved since last used. After I answer each question, it works. Whats going on. Please help.
I have the same problem and tried updating firmware but that didn't
seem to help. I tried factory resets and other "fixes" then I read
another article on fixya
http://www.fixya.com/support/t1100930-nuvi_360_cannot_acquire_sattelite
I followed the advice to put a wire into the external antenna receiver.
I used some torn apart cat 5 ethernet.
By inserting the wire into the middle it started finding satellites.
At this point that seemed to wake my nuvi up and it doesn't need the wire anymore.

Make sure it is in its mount. The antenna is in the mount and needs to be connected tight also make sure You have a view of the sky and not parked in a garage that blocks the signal
u go to the site called my www.myGarmin.com and register your unit, then check for updates for your unit, there is one hot fix avil that helps aquire satalites faster.
If a GPS gets a factory reset, powered off for months, or powered up again in a different country, it will eventually scan the sky for any satellite it can find, and then download a new almanac and ephemeris - which can take up to 12 minutes after it finds the first satellite. This is best done stationary, to minimize the doppler effect until a fix is acquired.
