Need software to connect printer to pc - Brother Office Equipment & Supplies

Please follow the following steps.

1) Turn off the printer.

2) Shutdown the PC to which the printer is connected.

3) Remove the USB/Serial cable through which the printer is connected to the PC and reconnect it back.

4) Now switch ON the PC(only PC and not the printer)

5) Let the PC boot up and login to windows.

6) Now switch on the printer, PC should detect the printer automatically now.

Now Please be informed that any Printer Driver software depends upon the hardware make and Operating System. You need to know all these information's to do get going.

Please find the Driver software's of your printer inside the installation disk provided with the Printer at the time of purchase. However you can download the same by visiting the website of the company that manufactured the Printer.

Even here you need to be careful to download the correct software for your PC. You need to be exact with the Printer Model number and the OS that you are using.

To install just Double clock on the driver setup.exe file and go on clicking 'Next' until you get the 'Finish' option and restart the PC.

If you do not have the CD or misplaced it somewhere then you need to download the driver software to get going. Thus you need to know all the above information to get the exact software your PC needs. As you have not mentioned the Operating System you are using, i am unable to give you the direct download link.
However you can download the same by visiting the 'software downloads' section of the website of the hardware brand you have purchased. You just need to Google the name of the brand and visit their website and search for the download section.

You did not specify brand and model.
However, you usually want to install software first BEFORE connecting printer.

Disconnect printer. Do un-install of printer software, use registry cleaner if you have one.
Restart pc. install software. restart pc again - plug in printer.

This may work.

Assuming your are installing this on a windows system and I'm not sure about your level of expertise (sorry I don't know MAC's);

1. It's a good idea to install the software on your PC before you connect the Printer to the PC (unless the directions say otherwise). Usually, either during the install or when you are done installing the software; the application will tell you to "connect the printer".
2. IF you connected the Printer before loading your software then go to "control panel" printers and look for your new printer and uninstall it. Then REBOOT your computer. If you don't see your printer in control panel then you may need to go to "Devices" under "My Computer" and look for the printer there then delete it from there.
3. Now install the software drivers (that came with your printer) on your computer.
4. When the installation completes, search for new drivers if it prompts you to do so (assuming you are connected to the internet. Sometimes it's a good idea to get the most current drivers from the internet and load these rather than using the software from the box. Be sure to select the correct software/drivers for your operating system. You can run the install right from the internet.
5. When you are connecting the printer to your PC (assuming you are using a USB cable); Plug the PC directly into a USB port on your PC and do not use a USB hub.

Turn on your laptop and let it finish loading the desk top. Then turn on your printer (but dont connect it to your laptop yet). After the printer has powered up, connect it to your laptop. Watch the laptop screen on the lower right hand side to see if it acknowledges the printer now connected and automatically searches for the necessary drivers. If it does, then follow the prompts and it will tell you when its finished and the printer is ready to use.

If you connect the printer and the pc does not acknowledge that it has been connected, then you will need to download the software to run the printer from Canon's website. Just go there and enter your printer model and download the software for free.

Make sure you install the software without the printer connected to your pc. Connect the printer afterwards for best results.

You will need to use the TWAIN software for the printer. From the computer you will be running the scan options thru the TWAIN software. Then the scan files will be pulled from the printer back to the computer. Running scan options directly from the printer will give you the option to print the scan files or send them to a memory card if your printer has a slot for one. If the scanning software is not installed on your computer then you will need to download it from the manufacturer's website.

Did you install the software first, and then plug in the printer? Or did you connect the printer and then install the software? For most newer USB printers, you need to install the software before you plug the printer into the computer, then at a certain point, their software (not Windows) tells you when to connect the printer.
