Networking Copier The copier was networked at one time and was working fine. We recently moved and the machine will not network now.

did the copier get moved alongside all of the computers, and networking equipment, to the new location, together? if not, then the copier may need to be reconfigured with the proper ip scheme.

the new router (if there is one) may be delving out a certain ip scheme, and your copier is programmed statically with something different.

Was a new set-up on the network done??, its probable you have new ip addresses and the 1430 has to have a static ip address to function... therefore it is likely a new set-up/installation would have to be done.

Cable and ip address

A regular Cat5 ethernet cable will work just fine to connect it to the network. For an IP address there will be a networking option in the menu for the unit which will allow you to assign a static IP address to it. Just make sure that your router is set up to not hand out that IP address.

Good Luck!

Read the Manual (comes with Tool). If you don't have the Tool download it from the Canon site. Go to the copier and press the System/Options button next to Copy/Mailbox/Fax. Press Online. Then try scanning. Go back to copier and press Offline so can photocopy again.

Canon MF4370dn Network Multifunction Laser Networking setup prob

I never figured out how to reset the machine but I figured out what I messed up on. I accidentally toggled the MAC address RX Auto to off. This means you must specify the MAC address of the machine you want to access it. This is why my computer could not find the printer. I went into the settings on the machine and changed it to auto and it works great.

Trouble networking copier to computer

you might have to set up the nic card in the machine. set it to a static IP address (not DHCP), then ping it from a PC..
If you can ping it, then instalation should find it!
I dont understand " time warner connection to rout both computors thru " ?

you should have.
One broadband Modem...
One Router which all pcs and machine's are connected to...
do ipconfig/all to figure out the pcs IP address, arp -a shows the arp table. determine what IP address to give the machine.
the machine should have a nic card with a light on it, if that light is green when you connect the cable, then the nic card is working.
then proceed to install the drivers to the PCs.

1. plug something else into the plug to make sure it is live.
2. make sure the power cable is firmly inserted into the back of the machine.
3. make sure the power switch is in the on position.
If this doesn't solve the problem then the machine needs a high voltage power supply or a DC controller. Good Luck!

BROTHER MFC-7820N-SCANNER FUNTION NOT WKING

Is it still working as a copier? If so then there may be something wrong with the printer's network interface or the networking at that jack or a problem with your switch. Have you tried moving it back to the old location or plugging the network cable into another wall jack, or changing ports on your switch?
